Annual preseason flashlight thread

Postby redspeckable » Mon Jul 22, 2013 8:04 pm

Alright guys, I'm about to order a few lights. Any do's or dont's that you've learned over the years since the Chinese lights took off. Looking for a couple good handheld and one or two headlamps. Thinking these will do. Am i correct in understanding the handheld will only need 3 AAA batteries? I know the headlamp only requires that.

Look for the one with the rechargeable battery pack on the back. I've never ran mine all the way down and they are very bright. I can run a boat and coon hunt with it if I wanted to.

I have this light, although it is bright, it's really not that impressive compared to the headlamp you posted. Just letting you know

I recommend these also. They're about the size of your middle finger, only take 1 AA battery, 300 lumens, zoomable, and cheap. I've bought several, and keep them everywhere. they come in very handy.

Thanks 3s. You think it's a true 300 lumen? The headlamp claims 300 and that sucker is BRIGHT. What kind of run time are you seeing off the 1 AA? I'm a sucker for flashlights. Feel like I never have enough.

i have this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251206081087?ss ... 918wt_1012

i've also bought hundreds of the one like 3spop posted. run time is respectful. very doubtful that they are truely 300 lumens, but they are still BA little lights for the money (as is the headlamp).

buyer beware though! not all those chinese lights perform the same even though the desriptions & images are identical! those lil' chinamen are sneaky!

I have one of these that I use regularly and its a good solid 500 lumen light. Cost a little more than these other cheapos but it's solid.

I saved up and bought a nice stream light LED which will burn yours eyes out. About twice the size of your middle finger. Very pleased with it.
