Pods on a Wareagle question......

Postby GreenheadJim » Sun Jul 14, 2013 2:36 pm

I just bought a used 1542 Wareagle. I'm going to try and run a 23hp Gatortail surface drive on it. I'm thinking I'm going to have to put pods on the back to help with flotation, but this boat has some weird angles on the transom. Anyone have any experience doing this?

Tall transom, you will not need em short, get it built up.

It's a short transom and the motor is for a shorty. I figured I would need pods to help carry the weight.

Yes they help, You do loose turning radius of motor. Just order from War Eagle(or get them to install)...

You might want to do some research on Mud Motor Talk...pods and surface drives don't usually do well together.

i'd stick the motor on there first and see if you need the pods. also move as much weight forward as you can. batteries, gas tanks etc. i ran a 15/42 with a 25hp go devil and was fine weight wise. i'd imagine the 2 motors are similar weight wise.
shoot them in the face they may be wearing body armor lol

i'd have a Huntdeck built on, rather than just pods.

Would you build it out of diamond plate or milled aluminum?
