Eeeeeasy college class?

Postby greenheadgrimreaper » Thu Jun 27, 2013 10:53 am

I am trying to pack it all in this semester to graduate in the fall. I am picking up a physics class and managerial accounting class at EMCC to take the load off due to my other geomatics classes that have long and hard labs. The problem this brings me to is I only have 11 hours at State. So, I need another class. An easy class. I am thinking something in business? I see there is a class offered in the Anthropology department on Maritime Fishing Societies, easy?

Anyone got any suggestions?

Leisure Studies in the P.E. Department. I was a Civil Engineering major (2006) and wanted an easy class just to boost my overall GPA. I had to get some signatures to be able to sign up, but it wasn't a big deal. I did a workout program instead of taking the final exam. You get extra credit for turning in ticket stubs to sporting events, visiting parks, playing golf, and other stuff like that. Heck, you'll probably get double credit if you show up with some live crawfish you caught for a class boil!

Easy. Lots of notetaking and all multiple choice tests. But easy.

I took a First Aid class at State back in the mid 80's that was an easy A as long as you showed up for class. I think it was a 3hr. class but had a lab once a week. At the time I didn't think much about it but the knowledge I gained has come in handy more than once.

I took golf, archery, and scuba diving over a couple of semesters to achieve full time status. Our scuba class drove down to Ft Lauderdale, rented a sailboat, and sailed to Bimini to dive for a week to achieve our certification.

Do they still have military science? You get to shoot M-16's, go repelling, write your autobiography, it was a lot of fun!! At least we got to do this way back when I was there.

I ain't seeing any of the classes listed like archery or scuba diving. A found a couple others, but they won't fit my schedule. I think I found one:

Catalog Information

College College of Education
Department Curriculum, Inst. & Special Ed

I took freshman Geography to fill out a few hours my last semester at State. If you can read a map it's a breeze.

I took Sociology by correspondence during my last semester at state to build much needed quality points (This was waaaaayyy before the invention of 'on-line' anything.) Other options include:

Music Appreciation - show up for class, class is usually filled with bow-heads (if that term is still used)

Art Appreciation - show up for class, class is usually filled with hippy chicks

Avoid Speach. Unless you are a journalism major, you'll only get a 'B'.

history and appreciation of the art crafts TKI 2413. It is like vacation bible school. You make stuff with popsicle sticks and playdo and glue sticks. When I took it we had to make 3 projects, and one of mine was a clock made out of a cedar tree cookie, the other one was a leather shell holder for a rifle stock, can't remember the 3rd one. We were allowed to take "field trips" to research project ideas. Most of my field trips were to noxubee to fish while I looked for the perfect cedar log.

The one draw back to this class is it only meets one day a week for like 3 hours at a time, we kinda came and went as we wanted. back the guy who taught the class wore an eye patch to class every time and that added an interesting element in itself.

I would also recommend making sure you do an audit with your undergraduate coordinator. There use to be certain rules about how many hours of the final remaining classes had to be done at MSU and not another institution. just make sure with the classes you have scheduled you can be assured to graduate

I am editing this to add that at one point business law was pretty easy if you got the right instructor (Ms. Cook use to teach this). Alot of those business classes have the same instructors, with the same notes, same multiple choice tests year after year. If you can snag one of those, it may leave you plenty of free time.

Wingman I have business law already, loved the class.

I met with my advisor and I am all good on taking my classes at EMCC. I definitely will check out this class you speak of. I like fishing, especially around cedar tops.
