I just wanted to hear how some of you have your dogs set up when you hunt. This is my first year hunting with my own dog and I had never really paid much attention to setups people had for their dogs before. I have been hunting around the edge of flooded timber and have used the bottom of my ol' man treestand as a platform for my dog to sit on so far. I was wondering what everyone (those that don't have a permanent blind or don't hunt out of a boat) used and how your dog likes it.

Well, I have used the bottom of my treestand as well. Or, if we are close enough to a big log or the land, Remi gets on them.

Ol' cypress logs big enough to float Beau works fine, plus you get to see the old boy do the lumberjack logroll!!

I have seen guys use an old tire with plywood attached on top. Makes ol' rover sit tight to keep from falling in.

If you have a place you hunt pretty regular, the best stand for a dog, other than a platform, is to take a 50 gallon drum poke holes in it a let it sink. You pretty much have to have a pretty consistent water level , so only about 2 inches of the top is exposed, works great, easy to jump off, and to get back on!
