391 XTREMA - 3 1/2 - 12 gauge
AL 3901 - 12 gauge
686 XT O/U - 12 & 20 gauge versions
Perhaps the biggest treat of our day with Beretta was the first look at their new shotgun made specifically for 3 1/2-inch shells. The two 391 XTREMA's were shipped from the Beretta factory in Italy for this seminar and a feeling of privilege was felt by our editors at the idea of shooting a never-been-see-before gun.
The first look at Beretta's 391 XTREMA for the 3 1/2-inch shell. Extremely easy to take down, five different chokes come with the gun. The 391 XTREMA will be launched at the 2002 SHOT show in Las Vegas.
Similar to the Beretta Urika in cosmetic appearances only, the 391 XTREMA shares no common parts with the Urika other than the stock and the GELTEC recoil pad, which comes standard on the XTREMA and will be offered as an accessory for the Urika. Guns & Ammo will have a complete review and in-depth look at this new shotgun that will be launched at the 2002 SHOT Show in Las Vegas.
The AL 3901 was launched in mid 2001 and is designed to be an entry-level semi-automatic shotgun. Available exclusively at licensed Beretta dealers, De Plano said, "this gun gives our dealers an economical shotgun, with the Beretta quality without the extra features that make a gun expensive."
The suggested retail on this gun will be between $550 to $600 and is available as this is being written.
