No firearms sign
We have debated this before, but my understanding is that with the "enhancement" you are not subject to the sign restriction. Is this correct?

Re: No firearms sign
Yes you are subject to the sign even with a IC BUT the sign must be in compliance with state guidelines. Basically it is private property, and you must adhere to the property owner's wishes or he can ask you to leave or call the cops.tombstone wrote:We have debated this before, but my understanding is that with the "enhancement" you are not subject to the sign restriction. Re: No firearms sign
I'll say what I've said before...I carry at all times. I don't pay attention to signs because they don't care about my safety like i do. If i think it's going to be a problem..I just go somewhere else. I'm not trying to be disrespectful to the owner but it's a crazy world..

Re: No firearms sign
The only thing they can do is ask you to leave. If you don't leave, you are trespassing and its a $25 ticket.
Concealed means concealed means concealed.
Concealed means concealed means concealed.

+1
And I think the new Open Carry Law that goes into effect July 1st will just cause more businesses to have a No Firearms Sign up.

Re: No firearms sign
so we all know:
1. that if it is concealed they will never know anyway.
2. If it is seen, they can only ask you to leave, which I will do.
Is this sign in compliance with the requirements?
This sign happens to be at an emergency room. It is at an emergency room that was entered into by thugs with a gun looking for a patient. No way I would go to the Clarksdale Hospital emergency room with out a gun. That is where the gang members go to finish the job they could not finish earlier in the evening.

Re: No firearms sign
well its seems you have already broken the rule of the first sign without question , so why would you be concerned about the 3rd sign ?

Re: No firearms sign
Same thing happened at Belzoni hospital about 2 years ago. They brought it to the hospital to finish the job that didn't get finished on the street.tombstone wrote:so we all know:

At Delta Regional in Greenville I think they have a metal detector and an officer at the entrance door.

No cameras allowed but they have cameras for your safety. So I guess cell phones not allowed either them since they most all have a camera on them...

Re: No firearms sign
Tupelo has a metal detector at the ER door with hospital security. Always thought that was funny because there were several other ways to get into the ER without going through the metal detector. That is supposed to have been fixed now.

Re: No firearms sign
Ha, at lunch I had a call from school to come gte my daughter who hurt her knee. We were headed back to my office and I see an off duty cop laying on top of a dude with him in the choke hold. The guy was not struggling so, I was not sure what was going on. The off duty cop had een riding by and the the black dude was beating a young girl (who was standing there with some others). I stopped and asked if he need me to call and a black lady standing there said she had called, but the officer wanted me to stay. I locked my kid in the truck and got out with a pistol in the pocket and one SOB. IT was lots of yelling and cussing, but that was about as rowdy as it got. the cops showed up and I slipped into the truck and drove off.

Re: No firearms sign
If there is a sign, I would say take your business elsewhere. A lawyer posted up on another site that he is defending an older gentleman that was arrested and is facing charges for carrying w/IC in a business with a sign. He was not asked to leave. Store security noticed he was carrying and called the police. He was arrested in front of his grandchildren. Now he is paying a lawyer to defend him.tombstone wrote:so we all know:

Take this for what its worth, but I think there is alot more at stake than being asked to leave a store. There are really not enough cases out there providing precedence on the subject to see how this will play out in court, and I don't want to end up being one of those cases no matter which way it plays out.

That's true, you may have to pay to defend yourself from someone that is ignorant with the laws.. But after July 1st you should rest a little easier that even if concealed and it shows by accident that you won't be breaking the law..

Re: No firearms sign
At Tupelo ER you need a gun to shoot yourself so your injury will be serious enough to get attention.....
Two weekends ago, my daughter hit her head at work and ended up with a concussion. Happened to be a Friday night (yay). Sat in Tupelo ER for 4 hours with every injured and diseased wretch in the county. A guy on the next bench sat for the entire four hours we were there with his severed finger in a plastic baggie before he was taken back from the waiting room.
We finally left, drove to the next town, and she was seen in less than an hour.
Anyway, didn't mean to hijack. Any urban ER would be one place I will definitely be carrying concealed if not subject to metal detector. When I lived in Little Rock, they had to put up bulletproof glass partitions around the trauma rooms because of the bangers.

Re: No firearms sign
No offense tombstone, but I'm so sick of driving to clarksdale I could about scream. My wife insists on using the gyno in Clarksdale, because she can't find one in Cleveland that "understands her". I'm just praying that I don't have to shoot my way into the hospital when we go for delivery. I've almost completely eleminated the need to go to Greenville for anything, and if I can ever find a doctor in Cleveland she likes I'm gonna take Clarksdale off the list too.
