seems like us rebs are watching a slowly sinking ship. can AK turn it around or are we headed for another 20 win season and a trip to the NIT?

i think the latter... what say ye?

last night sucked.

i'm over this street ball, non-coaching style of play. there is too much talent on the court to play like that.

even if we make the tourney i think AK needs to go; it's obvious he can only take our team so far.

This sounds VERY much like us MSU fans talking about Stans last year....you may want to keep AK...at least you are talking post season

I think ridding MSU of Stans was a good thing right now. Four years from now I may think differently.

yeah he's stout. 37 against us, he threw up 40 ( i think it was) in Rupp earlier. he wouldn't much give us the time of day when he came down to his recruitment. woulda loved to have him.

Stans is the reason we are where we are. He ran off anyone worth anything with his unfaltering support of Sidney. If he would have kicked him off the team in Hawaii, he would still have a job and we would have a better team. That kid was a cancer in the worst kind of way.

I aint got much for AK's coaching or his style of play.My dad is hardcore OM basketball and what he said about Turner was his dad called AK and Ak was not real interested in him coming to OM.Alot of fan's did'nt like Barnes but his team's allway's got after it on D,AK has some guy's that stand around on D Henderson is 1 example he play's D flatfooted with not much hussel.

Stans needed to go. I think AK is a good coach......kids are all about facilities, and for AK to bring in talent to the Sad Pad says a lot.........you need to keep him and give hima shot in a new facility.

I've never been a fan of AK...His teams just NEVER seem to gel, and players, for whatever reason, don't play hard for him, his offensive sets are average and the defense is consistently bad. AD will probably give him one more year but I'm not sure its deserved.

Stitch: I agree to a certain degree about recruiting players to play there, but more importantly, is doing something with the talent once you have them. Team this year has not improved and play way too inconsistently for the talent they have out there.

stich, i know your not big on the rebs, but this is THE most talented team we have had that i can ever remember us having. I just don't see how if he can't do it with these guys that he will EVER be able to finally break through.

someone should prob slap me for wanting more than being a 20 win season average after what we used to have to deal with in Rebel hoops but, damn it.... i want to at least get there for once. hell i was dang near to young to remember Carter and the valpo crap.

Our nonconference schedule was not as strong this season as it has been in the past. And the SEC, as a conference, is definately "down" this year, based upon the RPI ratings. And, as stated, this is perhaps AK's best team since he has been here. IF not this season, then when? Nick Williams, Holloway and Buckner are seniors.

20 wins or so hasn't gotten us into the dance in recent years, and it won't this year either. With out weak schedule, I think the Rebs need to win 25 games to punch their ticket to the NCAA tournament.

We just don't have many quality wins this season. Yes, we beat Missouri in Oxford, but they were short one of their better players at the time. Every other chance this team has had to beat a quality team, they have laid an egg. Hmmmm, what does this remind me of?

I "get" that it's AK's best team ever.......not sure what that means to the rest of the league. My point is that for him to bring in the talent he has.....with the facilities he has....I think he is doing great all things considered (I don't mean that as a knock).....I think it would be a shame to get rid of him, build a new facility, and let a new guy get all the glory after AK has battled for your school so many years.

Heck, Oregon used to suck at everything.....then they got the Nike money and built top of the line everything. I could probably Coach and win at Oregon with all they have going for them.......I am just saying the new arena will be a big benefit in recruiting......AK deserves a couple of years in it.
