after 50 some odd days, Cash and myself are whooped. i'm sure i'll miss it in two weeks but it's time to catch up on some sleep! with high hopes for this season, most of my expectations for a good year were filled. i've been lucky enough to guide on a good piece of ground in one of my favorite areas of the country for the past couple years, and have enjoyed every minute of it. our farm reported similar stories as others; the opener to Christmas was the best i've ever had, especially for mallards. it slowed down the week Christmas and New Years, having to deal with a full moon and ice. the shooting picked up steadily through January but ended on a surprisingly poor last weekend. all in all it was a great year.
despite warm temps, opening weekend produced a pile of greentops.
nothing is better than killing a greenhead, but working in a speck is a close second. canada goose of the south!
with over 700 retrieves this season, running across those rice fields every morning are tough on a dog but he never missed a beat!

i had to pinch myself when i crossed off something on my bucket list. i got to take two different group's to Slick's, the oldest commercially hunted green timber in the world. so much history in those woods.
some incredible dog work this morning. Cash MH and Cali MH QAA.
8 limits of mallards here. after they started with a few early hens we said greenheads only... so they did.
driving around i saw some cacklers mixed in with some specks.

Jimbo, Cash and I in the woods. funny how they work just right when the cameras aren't there..
i finally got a nice little camera that isn't my phone so I was able to get a couple good pics. afternoon corn hunt.
doesn't get much better in the trees.
can't thank God enough for Cash man; i literally couldn't have done this without him.
here's to waiting on next season fellas!
hope ya'll enjoy!

Great pictures. I have not seen close to the numbers your dropping but the good times are up there with the best. Ended my season last weekend on a 3 day, 4 hunt weekend in Stuttgart and had a blast.

Good stuff TJ.... I know we enjoyed ourselves opening weekend. As a matter of fact, that is an understatement but I can't think of the right words at the moment. It doesn't matter though... you know what I meant.

Congrats on what appears to have been an exceptional season for you and the 'man in black'. Y'all obviously make a great team.
Nice photos and such great hunting opportunities - I don't need to tell you to enjoy them while you can.
