Lasik Surgery. I need it AGAIN.

I had Lasik surgery done back in 2005 or 2006 by Dr Cook in Vicksburg. At the time it was the best money I had ever spent...EVER. I could see things and colors I didn't know existed. Then deer season 2011, I noticed my vision wasn't as sharp as it once was. Now my vision is becoming absolutely TERRIBLE at night. I just wanted to see if anybody had any advice relating to getting the procedure done again. I have not tried to contact Dr. Cook yet, but I have heard that he is no longer practicing...(this may or may not be true).

Any advice from the guys out there that have had it done...and maybe some that have had it done again??

Any experience with this particular doctor?? Do you think he may do some sort of warranty work?? LOL. I don't remember signing any type of contract or disclosure, but i'm sure there is something on file.

i've had an "enhancement" done on one of mine. i paid for lifetime enhancements when i had mine done due to astigmatism. the place that did mine doesn't offer lifetime enhancements anymore, but do have one enhancement per eye as part of the package.
mine was done at mississippi vision on river oaks. dr. anderson-weiss did mine, but has since moved back up north and dr. aden did the enhancement (family from indianola). i highly recommend them.

I used dr cook also in 05-06 and I need it again. I used him due to being cheap and folks on this site recommended him. So if anyone knows one in north ms or Memphis let me know.

Enhancments.....

Much of the success of an enhancement will depend upon what your Rx was pre surgery and how thick your corneas were pre surgery. There is a definite line of how thin you can make the cornea and if you don't have enough cornea left you are back to glasses and contact lenses or looking at an implant lens to correct your vision. Enhancements work out fine just like the original surgery, you just have to have enough cornea left to do so.

As far as cost anything in the world is possible with LASIK, I have seen more crazy stuff advertised for LASIK than I though possible. MOST docs charge same price as a new LASIK patient to do an enhancement.

My associate that does our LASIK cases charges $1400/eye for LASIK and if we have to do an enhancement on a previous patient it's $1000 on new to us patient it's $1400. Hope that helps some

I dont know if you can get PRK after getting LASIK but if you can I would do that. I got PRK done by Dr. Freeman at MECA (Memphis). Night blindness is one of the common downfalls of LASIK.

I had mine done by Thomas Hebert in Louisiana. Had problems with one eye months later and he did enhancement at no charge.

I too have had PRK at MECA about 5-6 years ago and still have better than 20-20 vision today. The bottom line on our chart at work, if read from 10' is 20/16 and I read it no problem at 10'. PRK may be more painful in the beginning, but the "down the road" results have been fantastic. No flap to dislodge, no halo's etc. I will say that my ability to read small print in dimly lit situations isn't what it use to be, BUT I'll take that any day over the vision issues I had before the surgery.
