Looks like he has taken the people of MS's concerns and done somethign about it. Falling in line with alot of other states that have issued similar statements/requests/laws.

Re: Govenor Bryant Issues Letter
A friend of mine sent a letter to congressman Alan Nunnelee and actually heard back from him. He said he appreciated him letting him know his concerns on the gun ban issues and claimed he was totally against any bans and would fight any bans that they tried to pass through.
Re: Govenor Bryant Issues Letter
I LOVE it however when I read it one part scares me. It says by State or Local Law Enforcement.
I guess thats as far as it can go written by the governor, but still leaves room for federal law enforcement to enforce?

this #$%^ is about to get real. local governments banding together to fight the national government, sounds like civil unrest to me.

Well there was already a lot of talk about civil unrest and what would push it past the tipping point. I think Obama over using his power on this one just may do it.LawDawg wrote:this #$%^ is about to get real. local governments banding together to fight the national government, sounds like civil unrest to me.

Ok, now that we see his executive orders amount to jack sh%$, we can go on about our business and let guns and ammo get back to normal
pricing levels so that a poor man can get one.
On another note, I think our Ms legislature should craft a bill that would allow gun and ammo manufacturers to manufacture any weapons they want
in the state of Ms. And set up legal trade with neighboring states that want to still keep their 2nd ammend. rights.
We get to keep our guns and create jobs at the same time. I remember reading somewhere a ammo/gun manufacturer in Illinois already talking
about leaving due to all the restrictions they have in Illinois. WE should welcome them to Ms, just like we did Winchester/Olin.

That is a good idea fireplug. If states can make weed legal how come we can't make any guns we want legal in our state.

Some of that concerns me when I think about it further.
For example:
6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers. Does this mean there is a law being set in motion for all private sells to have background checks?
16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.
I don't trust this president and can envision where this could open up a whole lot of crap. Especially since health care records will be recorded and shared in the future.

I looked at it all earlier but am tired of looking at it all.... but if im not mistaking it says private dealers not just a random private seller... what makes one a dealer is my question???peewee wrote:fireplug wrote:Ok, now that we see his executive orders amount to jack sh%$, we can go on about our business and let guns and ammo get back to normal

If anyone is dumb enough to answer a question from your doctor about your firearms and where they are located shouldn't have any guns in their
house, because they have proven they are mentally challenged by answering the question to begin with.
Secondly, the president can't write laws, they have to come from congress. Congress will not pass any laws pertaining to guns at this time. Maybe
somewhere down the road but not now. Nothing would make it through the house.

Three Things Have Happened In View Of The Obama EOs Today:
(1) The EOs really don't change anything but result in more spending...typical for a politician...actually not an infringement on anyone's rights as we sit here today though...Bryant should have waited to issue the letter;
(2) Obama's congressional proposals of banning assault weapons (whatever that means) and mag restrictions will not make it to his desk; and
(3) The high prices for guns and ammo are here to stay...the gun makers and ammo makers have seen that the market will bear the ultra-high prices...as such, gun and ammo prices will slide some from their current prices, but will never drop to what they were before the Connecticut shooting.

On supertalk today Paul G read the letter that WY is planning on trying to pass.. It would make any FED GOV agent a felon if he acted on any EXEC order that Barry has signed in the boundrys of WY.
Its more to it than that but it sounded great..
I believe Paul read the letter to Tate R and he said that sounded like something good for MS also!
We will C!
