I could be wrong, but I feel like I have heard folks say before that they have just "sent" their costas back in and got a new pair of sunglasses in the mail.....

any truth to that?

thanks.

It has happened, but I would say it was luck of the draw. I've sent two pairs back and had to pay for both repairs.

I have had the "same" pair since 2007. About a year and a half ago, the lens began to come out of the frame and discolor (probably due to sunscreen exposure). I sent the pair back with those two items noted for repair. A few weeks later, I recieved what I thought were my repaired glasses. But when I looked at the packing receipt, it said "Warranty Frame Replacement, Warranty Lens Replacement"; therefore, I did receive a new pair. But they are currently back at Costa because I dropped them and the frame chipped. The ear pieces were also straightening out. I noted both items, and this time. I have to pay for it. The cost isn't even 1/2 of a new pair so its not a bad deal. Moral of the story, I guess, is just like what was said before "it depends".

Good luck.

The frames have a lifetime warranty, the lenses do not so they will only pay for the lenses if it is a defect.

Do I simply note in the box what is wrong with them?

Go the their site and fill out the repair form. They have all the instructions there.

Had some frames break, and they replaced them. Fairly painless process.

Yep. You need the RMA number before you send them in. Fill the form out and mail it to them. You will get an email or phone call once they are received and evaluated.

It really is relatively painless. The hardest part (to me) is finding a box that will fit your glasses that isn't enormous.

Sometimes your local optometrist can be a big help with Costa. Mine helped me not long ago but she told me Costa was getting a little hard to deal with on warranty work.

A little off topic but does anyone have the silver mirror lenses? They are 580g and I didn't see them on there a few months ago when I looked. I'm looking at getting some Coasta's here soon, and was wondering if anyone has every had any.

Talked to coasta today. They said my frames were discontinued so therefore they were not under warrianty anymore. I could get new frames for 49 bucks. They also said my lenses were fogging up because my frames was sittin on my face unevenly so they could either put them in my new frames or I could get new ones for another 49 bucks.
