Tyler Russell
I thought they should've giver the MVP to Tyler Russell for his outstanding play enabling Northwestern to win their first bowl game in 64 years.

Re: Tyler Russell
On a manageable 3rd and 5, he throws the Hail Mary. Picked of course. Pitiful performance by MSU and a bit of an embarrassment. Believe.

I think the "Believe" thing has pretty much run its course by now, but I agree with everything else. That was the worst performance from any MSU quarterback I have seen since I don't know when. The play calling was terrible as well.duckter wrote:On a manageable 3rd and 5, he throws the Hail Mary. Picked of course. Pitiful performance by MSU and a bit of an embarrassment. Believe.
Re: Tyler Russell
I've been an alumnus, supporter, and cowbell ringer for MSU since 1969, so I'm used to the MSU let-downs....but, this was the most ridiculous, embarrassing, suck-booty display of football that I've ever witnessed at MSU.
I've not liked Tyler Russell, ever since he stepped on the MSU scene....and, I don't think the players like or respect him, either....however, yesterday, the off. line gave him all the protection ANY QB could ever expect to get....he looked like he was waiting on a taxi, standing back there in the pocket....my GOD, how much time does a QB need to consistently complete a pass or two!!!???
Sure, he had a couple of nice completions....but, only as a result of extraordinary receptions, by the receivers.
The MSU AD needs to buy two bus tickets....one for Tyler Russell to some junior college....and, another to Mullens for a recruiting trip!!!

Re: Tyler Russell
I like Dak Prescott and have told other MSU fans all year that I think we are better suited to run a similar type offense as to what we were doing with Relf at QB. Our defense is not the same as when we had White and Wright back there as LBs. Our secondary gets praise because of their athletic ability instead of how good they actually defend the pass. We still need to be a ball control, clock running, wear you down type of offense that keeps our defense fresh all of the time. That wins ballgames. Been told that Dak is a better passer now than Relf was. We have some great RBs to pound the ball. Our OL loves to run block as you can see the way they push people back. All of this change we have made just because we think we have a passing QB in Russell and had a bunch of senior WRs. Think Mullen better think all of this through and go with a system that suits MAJORITY of our players....not just two or three.
Are we gonna get wet?

As a seasoned LSU fan, I can tell you with great confidence that the back-up QB is always the best QB on the roster...until he is a starter....then his back-up is better.SWAG wrote:I like Dak Prescott and have told other MSU fans all year that I think we are better suited to run a similar type offense as to what we were doing with Relf at QB. Russell is a good QB that had an off day. Northwestern is better than most believe...they had the lead in the 4th quarter in every game they played this past year.
I do think the Mullen has mailed it in for some reason this year though.

There won't be anyone hollarn
For daks backup.
Whoever he is he's a walk-on
Sidenote: we have one qb committed to us for
Next year a kid from Florida. Suppose to be a tebow
Clone. Word is he will never step foot in da'ville
As he will be taken in the first rd of the
Baseball draft

Re: Tyler Russell
How times have changed, I have been a supporter for a long time and I remember getting wiped out in the Liberty Bowl by Air Force and people were happy to just be there. We are beginning to sound a lot like Ole Miss fans dealing with their past coaches. The only lost I am upset with is to Ole Miss and the way we looked in that game. All the other games we got beat by better teams, we have done a lot of trash talking for the last couple of years and we have a lot of crow to eat this year. The old saying He who laughs last laughs the loudest has never been truer for MSU fans than this year. I still happy with this year a heck of a lot better than 95% of the last 45 years I have been going to games

Nicely put. I've hated the trash talking Mullen started from day one. And I hope that crow tastes as nasty as it can in his mouth.
I do however have to disagree that Northwestern was a better team than us. IF we had performed to even half of our ability we would have beaten them.
They sucked almost as bad as we did. We just sucked a little worse on that day. We lost from poor play calling and Russel's poor performance.
How do you like your Hope and Change?
