Anyone refinanced recently. I have a friend that claims he is locked into 2.75. If that is the case I may be checking into if it is worth it for me.

I have 59,000 left on my loan (6.5 years). We are currently financed at 5.25. Would it be worth it for us to refinance.

10 years at 2.99 will make your payment 569.44
And thats about where we were. 6ish years and 65K. Got some extra money to redo our kitchen though.

Add into that it will cost you some just for refinance fees. I dont think the juice is worth the squeeze for 6 years, but i didnt stay at a holiday inn last night either.

I am not a mortgage expert, but I would say absolutely. You can probably get a 5 yr loan for 2.5-3% and cut yrs off your loan and cut monthly payment at the same time.
I sent you a PM also.

6.5 years left or 6.5 into the loan? What was the original term? 30 years?

As much as I like doing mortgages for people deltaduckman is probably right. You're going to add back around $2,000 (estimated) in hard cost to your loan. Divide that by the total monthly savings and you'll probably pay it off about the time you break even. With that being said, feel free to call me and i'll run the numbers for you. I think most on here that have done business with me will agree that i'm not the pushy sales type. I won"t chase you down. I'm going to give you what you ask for and let you make the decision.

Did mine back in the summer and I went from a 30yr 6.2 to a 15 year 3.3 and my payments only went up 20$/month.
