Ao I looked at my bank account today to find out some turd has gotten my account number
And decided to by a lot of groupons and a membership to an online dating sight. So I went to my local bank and the nice lady there shut the card off, got me a new card, and bankplus is reimbursing all the charges I didn't authorize plus found one that I missed. Super nice and great end to an almost bad day/ month. All I need is five mins with the low life an I can promise they want steal again.

I've been a fan of theirs for some time. I especially like the fact that they will reimburse you the atm fees charged by other banks. I have been VERY pleased with my service from them so far.

glad it worked out good for you, but maybe they will also start teaching their account holders the difference between "want" and "won't"

I am happy things worked out. Everything Bankplus did they are required to do by law. Attached is information everyone should know if they are ever in a situation where their credit and/or debit cards are stolen.

I've had my debit card comprimised twice within the last year. The first time was right before Christmas, when my card # showed up somewhere around the Orland Fl area to the tune of over $700 in unauthorized charges to a ladies cosmetic store, some fine dining and flowers. The next time was in February "down under" in Australia for about $500. In both cases all charges were reimbused by my bank.

I've been called 2 or three times in the last 1 1/2 years from charges that are attempting to be pushed through and the bank shuts the card down. What happens is a computer in somewhere like Nigeria, imagine that, radomly spits out credit card number and then attempts a charge of $1.00 or $2.00. If the charge sticks they know they have a good number and will run a couple hundred bucks through a few days later. The banks have software to catch this sort of stuff and usually shut the card down before you even know it. Card was shut down one time for that sort of thing and I was trying to use it at a convenience store before they called to tell me. Democrat behind the counter had some smart booty comment about there not being any money in my account but I knew something must be up. Called and it was a random computer charge again.

Twice this year my 83 yr old mother has had fraud drafts from her checking account at Bancorp South. Filed the paper work and they reimbursed the money $280/$350. She has no credit cards/debit cards. She is hard of hearing so we got unlisted phone number if that's how it worked. Seems one of them the transaction number was a phone number with BS reply when called. Authorization? WTF!

We've had something similar happen with the cell phones. Kids will get a text message telling them to send No if they don't want something and they will reply. That let's the people know it's a valid phone number and then they'll force charges to the cell phone bill.
