I know there's already a sled blind topic going but didn't want to hijack. Anybody got pictures of their sled blind? Or any blinds? Seems like all the pictures have been deleted from old posts on sled blinds.

Like that sled blind, profile is a lot lower than most

Correct. Stand up to shoot. You can bend the wire in front and back to your liking. The grass is my base layer and i throw catfish seine (large black and small green/rusty colored) on top of that. Intermingle with native stuff (vines/grasses/etc) and walla!!!!

I got the general design from a friend that put the flared sides to make it blend better.
He actually doesnt put his on skids, he sets it on an old beat up boat, drags it to the spot and pulls the plug. The boat sets and the ground and the sides drape over the gun rail of the boat.
The seat is exactly 12" above the ground, the back is 30". You will often be setting in the water but its the only way i have found to low profile in a landleveled field without using layouts or pits.
After the grass gets wet it can get pretty heavy and it will take a polaris to pull it from spot to spot.

What is riprap fabric?

Its a non woven material ( usually a few mils thick) that is used as a separating layer between bare ground and rock rip rap. The thickness of the material is based on the size of the rock rip rap( 50#,100#,200#,300#- A stone). It usually comes in 11.5 ft wide x 300 ft long rolls.
Or that black caca draped over the sled blind in the pic's above.

What is riprap fabric?

Also called Filter Fabric or Geofabric. Used in french drains, drainage systems, flower beds......

I had some laying around that we decided to use in a sled blind at our camp this year, i was hoping it would work well, i was somewhat worried about it soaking in too much water. Glad to hear it works well...

I had some laying around that we decided to use in a sled blind at our camp this year, i was hoping it would work well, i was somewhat worried about it soaking in too much water. Glad to hear it works well...

I am curious about the water as well.

What he said. The fabric is designed to pass water, but retain fine materials. I've never thought of wrapping a sled in it, but then again we don't use sleds that often. Would work great in wrapping a tripod though.
