All of these are growing in the same spot. It was disked and planted in rice last year. Water left to dry up on its own this year but most all water was gone by mid June. They are all "duck friendly", some being better seed producers than others. They are all "early successional" species, meaning they do best the first 2-3 years after soil disturbance like disking and then start to dwindle away or produce drastically fewer pounds of seed per acre as they are replaced by species that are not as favored by waterfowl.
The first five are in the grass family.
First three are practically blood kin. First two are natural and the same genus and species, but the variety is different. The third is a volunteer plant from last year's planting. They all 3 like it damp to wet and can grow in standing water.

These two tend to like drier sites, or when water is drawn down later in the year. They will sometimes come up after A-C above have matured and died.
