Has anyone had any truoble getting a good burn using the generic on typical food plot weeds lately. I have not had trouble before but have had sev folks tell me lately they did not get a good kill. Just wondering if I was missing something and looking for some good tips.
are you mixing it stronger than the label suggest?

Probably too dry and the weeds just aren't taking it up. If 64 oz/ acre doesn't kill an annual weed of decent size, God doesn't want it to die.

Add a gallon of diesel fuel and half a cup of dawn to your mix.

try 2.5 gal/110gal. that worked for me

I hope not. I spent 4 hours spraying all of my plots saturday with ranger

dish soap helps with absorption thus speeding up the killing process. it works pretty good. mix some up with your roundup and water...

also did the diesel a time or two; putting fuel under pressure like that just scared me a little much; although it did burn the plant pretty quick like

Most of your glyphosate will come with an adequate surfactant premixed. You could check that on the label, but I'm assuming unless you got it outta Jaffar's trunk on the wrong side of the tracks you should be good to go. It's takes a while for it to work especially if the weeds are already stressed. If it's not dead 14 days after app go get a disc.

How much water are you mixing that 64 ounces in?

I personally am going for a 4 to 5 percent ratio.

1-2 quarts per acre. 5-10 gallons per acre total volume.

That sounds like 5 percent to me.

I mainly use it at this rate in a backpack sprayer for spot treatment and an atv sprayer for widespread spot treatment.

The ratio we were told to use was 3 oz per gallon. We just sprayed Saturday so won't really know anything for a couple weeks. Last year we sprayed the plots and 3 weeks later everything was DEAD DEAD DEAD. We found 2.5 gallons for $51 in Hernando at the CO-OP, not really sure if that's a good price or not, but it seemed pretty reasonable seeing how Round Up (proper) is over $200 for 2 gallons. We're hoping to put our initial discing on the fields in 2-3 weeks, then planting sometime in mid September.

That's a little over two percent. If I'm not mistaken ,the label instructions begin at 2% for grasses, higher percentage for woody plants. (spot spraying)

That's the ratio the fella at the CO-OP told them to use, and how they told me to mix it. Hopefully it will do the trick.

I paid $49 for the Ranger so that seems right in line for generic

I wasn't trying to argue with you about the percentage, I just figured out I needed more than what they told me when I asked.
