im workin on building a blind to hunt certain areas, need something that I can carryin with no problem and pop up where there is not much cover, I bought a pack of the 4x4 grass matts braced them with tomato stakes but the matts are a little too heavy and my zip ties are tearing, I have about 40ft of burlap I can use that would be a little bit lighter, anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

If your zip ties are the problem, I'd recommend buying some heavy duty ones that won't break.

Unless the grass mats match the area you are hunting they may actually stick out like a sore thumb. Just my humble opinion, but I would use natural cover and just be still. Good luck.

Take a roll of chicken wire with some stakes and use the natural grasses in the area you are hunting by weaving thru the chicken wire....or buy some of the military camo netting with some stakes. We had one like this in a mud brown color smack dab in the middle of a little pond, it worked great.

Make sure the chicken wire is a little weathered... not brand new and shiny

I saw a guy use small conduit to build a lightweight frame. He had military camo netting that he touched up with some local flair. Super light and you could probably build it up where you could break it down for long range moves.

Maybe just camo up and sit still?

This works good but can get cumbersome. We used it in a field with shin high grass and it was perfect. We sat on milk crates. Gotta keep a low profile. What type of terrain. Fields, woods, sloughs ect.

Layout blinds fold and fit nicely on your back.

Met a kid with a baseball pitchback thingy that he had painted and brushed up the mesh one time. Broke down into a length of 4" PVC and strapped over the shoulder for the death march in and out...lightweight and looked dang good from across the pond too. I use a layout chair( got it cheap on ebay) and camo up. If Im in knee deep water I use a brown 5 gallon bucket and guilli hat...never leave home without em. Set your dekes away from yourself

I bet that works really well, may try for overhead cover in the buck brush thicket.

If it's a huge deal you could buy one of those cheap pop up pine goat blinds for 50 dollhairs, modify the top, and you'd have a pretty nice little portable duck blind. Or at the very minimum waste 50 dollhairs on a fun project.
