Insanity- workout

OK, who on here has tried this? 45 mins/day for 60 days straight including Sat/Sun, correct? I went to the beach on my 10th anniversary and lets just say, I'm not at all happy where I am physically. I run/walk 3 AM's a week for about 20 mins, pushups, situps, pullups, just looking for something more intense to push myself. Need something I can do at home.
Worth the $130?

I wouldnt start out with it from what I have seen. Best to probably start out with a P90X 1st. Then work your self up to possibly getting the other one. You wont loose money on the 90x either, it keeps it value to resale

If you stick to it it's definitely worth it. If you can make it through the first 2 weeks it gets to be routine. I'm not going to say its easier but you start looking forward to it. It's best to have a partner that will help push you. I will tell you this, it's tough on joints especially knees. My workout buddy tore his acl in high school and wasn't able to do it after about a week in a half. I ended up quoting after 3 weeks because I couldn't stick to it alone. But in just 3 weeks I lost 20lbs and probably 3-4 inches off my waist. Yes it works. Is it for everybody? Definitely not... I was extremely active growing up, always involved in sports, but this workout is tough. And it's 6 days a week so you do get a day of rest.

I've heard of several people that started with p90x first then went to insanity. It is tough but like someone said you get to looking forward to it. If you are already working out some so it may not be as bad for you as others. If you are going to do it then step up your cardio for a couple weeks before you start. It comes with a diet book also. Plenty of choices with the diet and plenty of substitutes if you don't like something on it. Good luck with it.

Did it last summer. I was in sheety shape when I started. Made it about a month. Tendonitis in various places made me stop. Some physical shape before hand helps.

It's hard. I also find it hard to devote an hour a day to a video.
good luck

Me and some buddies did it and stopped after about 3 weeks. We were on concrete with just commercial carpet and it killed our knees. I would get some kind of pad or something. I would start it again if I had a partner.

Did P90 before we started P90X. Gets you from the couch to ready for P90X. Got a little repetitive as it is only two workouts. One is a cardio and one is strength. Uses a lot of the same moves at p90X. I think it definitely helped with being able to finish the P90X workouts.

If you are looking for something to do at home/work that does not include weights and/or pull-up bar, I would go with the original P90. You can get it for three payments of 19.95+shipping.

Will look into. Not concerned about the '6 pack', heck, about to be 34, wife & two kids so that is not a concern, just want something to push me.
thanks again fellas.

I'm in the same boat as you. married with kids and 33 yrs old. Hard to be motivated enough to do something like insanity on your own. The Crossfit workouts and community is addictive and much easier for me to stick with. There are lots of new "Crossfit Boxes" out there to chose from.
