askew?
i have tried and never found anything on askew wma. why, i dont know. it is a state wma operated by the corps. anyways, the saying was they werent gonna flood it anymore for ducks cause it was hurting the trees and cost too much to run those two pumps for two or three months at a time. i dunno. but it does have some good deer and squirrel hunting. i think a few folks might rabbit hunt in there as well. i like the place myself. if you find anything let me know. regs on deer....no rifles. only archery, shotguns and primitive weapons. duck hunting till noon. no wheelers. no permanent duckblinds and no blinds left overnight.

askew?
I have hunted Askew all of my life---home town is Crenshaw. Pumps have been running for several weeks. Duck hunting is morning only. Gets kinda crowded sometimes. Die-hards get there as early as 2:00 AM to lay clain to their favorite hole.
Suggest any newbies get out and walk it during daylite hours to familiarize yourself with area.

call the corps in Grenada , they'll give you some info or they can direct you to the proper agency.(I think that's where I got the info, I've gotten several difft. pkgs from different places lately.) Ask to speak w/ the guy that handles the public duck hunting around the area; he's a nice guy.

could be some truth to your rumor. concerns over killing the trees with too much water. i asked that question couple of weeks ago and got--good chance. probably flood part of bottom instead of all of it. i sure like it better with bottom flooded. keeps ducks in our area.
