My dad is asking me if he is canoeing the Buffalo River in Arkansas, and taking out at the State Park, can he have a pistol in his day sack? He does not have a concealed carry permit.

When I first saw the post title I was going to comment on my knowledge of the Buffalo. But I said no, Austin, read carefully so you don't get accused of smokin' the moonrock again.

Pretty sure he needs a permit in Arkansas to carry in the park legally.

Ol' Ned Beatty sure wishes he would have packed one. Never bring a bow to a gun fight or a good porking!

I have done several 1.5 to 2 day trips on the buffalo river and always took a pistol. You don't want to get in a gun fight with a knife. I would not worry about getting caught or checked unless you do something stupid.
