This mornings hunt

We got set up on a hot bird first thing, we were set up on a road on a ridge between two bottoms, the road connects two fields. We gave him a couple of calls on the roost to let him know we were there. It after sounded like he strutted in the bottom for a little while and he eventually worked his way up to the road and popped out about 60 yards away. He hung up there and did not want to come in. He finally went back off in the bottom and started gobbling straight down from us. We gave him a few more calls and he started working his way up the ridge kind of behind us and to our left, so I readjusted. He hung up in some brush just inside the woods and I could see him moving but could not get a shot, then he starts putting and I get once glimpse of his head and then he is out of sight. Called to him one more time and he turned around and came back, this time he came back out in the field and of course the only tree between me and him was blocking my shot, he finally took a few more steps and I was able to dirt roll him at 40 yards. Fun hunt and we just had to be patient with him and it turned out great. Most of the beard was broke off, but the long strands measured 8 1/4" spurs were 7/8".
