smartphone question

does anybody know how to use your samsung galaxy phone from cspire as a wifi hotspot? I figured out how to turn on the wifi hotspot feature, but when my computer picks up the signal it says I need a password to log on, and I cannot figure out how to set the password on my smartphone. is it even possible?
