My wife and kids will be in Starkville around lunchtime today. She is looking for a place that has veggies and homestyle meals. Any suggestions?

Both places above also have a "veggie plate" as part of their blue plate lunches, if that's what she prefers.

Cappe's, restaurant tyler, and the veranda are my three favorites.

if cappe's: on hwy 12 turn between kfc/bop's and citizen's bank and it's on the left

if veranda: on hwy 12 turn between capt d's/old bank and harvey's, go tofirst light and take a left. veranda will be on right at the light, across from water tower.

both are good and both will be crowded at noon.

Never been in there for their lunch, but Three Little Pigs on HWY 12 where Avenue of Patriots intersects is worth a shot. Anybody tried it? Supposedly they have a pretty good breakfast too.

Been there a couple times. Food isn't that impressive and last time I waited 15 min for a bbq sandwich and they weren't even close to busy. No on the level of other places that have been mentioned. My .02

I don't know about all that now.....Peggies in Philly is by far the best place you could EVER go buy country cooking. I suggest everyone that ever goes thought there durning lunch time to stop there if you like REAL country cooking. And it's the only place I know that could light a candle anywhere near Mothers Grandmothers or Great Grandmothers cooking.
