Re: Mitt Romney
Agreed. Grow some balls AND sense otherwise step away.
Re: Mitt Romney
Don't let it worry you, brother. Neither he nor Newt can beat Obama in a general election. As a plus, Marco Rubio and Rand Paul are working together alot these day. They would form a hell of a ticket in 2016, representing Florida/latinos and Liberatarians/southerners.
Re: Mitt Romney
Very true. But we better hope that that the conservatives win congress, so at least he can't push his liberal agenda the next 4 years.JDgator wrote:Don't let it worry you, brother. Neither he nor Newt can beat Obama in a general election.
Newt is very smart, but is unelecable. Career politician who is a fat old white guy with a TON of baggage.
Mitt is just plain weird. Yes he would be better than Obama, but nobody knows what his stance on things are, because he changes on a whim for poll #'s.
Ron Paul is awesome. A little out there when it comes to international policy, but man I'd love a person who has common sense in office. Problem is he is about 77 and could never get the vote of "average America" because you either love or hate him.
Santorum, well he is exactly what swing voters hate most about modern day republicans. He's another RINO republican.
Re: Mitt Romney
What do you mean by this Duramax? If you mean he can't get their votes purely because he wants everyone to live based on Christian principles then I totally agree.duramax wrote:Santorum, well he is exactly what swing voters hate most about modern day republicans. It's a sad truth, but just like I don't want a fiscal liberal telling me what to do with my money, most Americans don't want a social conservative telling them what to do in the bedroom. I am amazed every election cycle how large of a part abortion and gay marriage plays into who gets the Republican nomination. Those aren't the real issues people. Gays/lesbians aren't procreating at a break neck rate like welfare abusers are. A fiscal conservative that stays away from social issues is what we need to get the entitlements under control. Our judicial system has determined that we can no longer be governed by religious beliefs, so stop trying to win elections based on things that you can't use to govern us and really fix our issues.

Re: Mitt Romney
Exactly. Santorum will only appeal to the religious right who vote solely on their social beliefs. Santorum had a marginal record as a fiscal conservative.farmerc83 wrote:What do you mean by this Duramax? Re: Mitt Romney
Yes but the problem is you cannot stay away from social issues as a conservative. Be damned if you do, and well, you know the rest. Social issues are a conservative republican's worst nightmare.
And I have to completely disagree, I think Newt is totally electable. I think if he and Obama were head to head in debates he would crush Obama. In the heat of the battle, folks forget about baggage. Just like Newt said last night: Obama is going to spend a billion dollars smearing the GOP candidate, we had better be ready to take him down in the debates.
We damn sure aren't going to outspend him.
I like Ron Paul a lot. Unfortunately I don't waste too much hope on him being elected.
I always said liberalism makes this much sense: teenagers, en masse, think it's a good idea.

Re: Mitt Romney
My preference would be Ron Paul, of course. But he is not electable either. Once the democratic propaganda machine kicks into full gear all these candidates are done. Every presidential debate moderator would be asking Newt about his failed marriages, affairs, and soiled past or painting Romney as the 1% enemy.
Re: Mitt Romney
Folks may forget about Newt's baggage, but no one is going to forget Obama keeps a cash benefit check coming, a balance on that EBT card and rent paid to their landlord thru HUD. Obama voters don't care about the debates....not that they don't have the tv and cable to watch them (all paid for by our tax $), they just don't care.greenheadgrimreaper wrote:And I have to completely disagree, I think Newt is totally electable. Just once I wish a republican canidate would break it down like this to a dem in a debate. Democrats use the republican canidate's supporters' tax dollars to support the democrat's supporters. Then look squarely at the dem and demand that they thank the republican's supporters for practically buying dem votes thru entitlements with tax dollars.

Exactly. If they young, uneducated or unemployed think it's a great idea, it probably isn't.greenheadgrimreaper wrote:I always said liberalism makes this much sense: teenagers, en masse, think it's a good idea.

NEWT 2012!
You boys need to get on the Newt Train. He's heading to the white house. He's on his way to winning Florida, (which is winner take all delegats)
and will win many more states. Is he perfect?, No, but who is. Ron Paul will not and can not win Period. So why don't you Ron Paul supporters
get on the train with Newt. He is the only one of the candidates that agrees with Ron Paul about the Fed and the Gold standard. He may even put
Ron Paul in some cabinet position that would focus on those two things if he threw his support behind Newt.
It really pizzes me off when people just automatically assume and or repeat what the media is telling them....Newt can't beat Obama, Mitt is the only one.
BULLCHIT!. Don't let them brain wash you guys too. The establisment media and the liberal media want the Mitt / Obama race so bad they can taste it.
If you watch Fox news you are just waiting for a thrill to go up Britt Hume's leg about Mitt Romney. Chris Matthews still has Obama thrills up his. Guys the
media is trying to pick their candidate and tell you he's the only one that can do it. Let's try this novel idea........ Let's decide for ourselves. Newt Can beat Obama, Romney Can beat Obama, Ron Paul Can beat Obama, and Rick Santorum Can beat Obama, IF the American People decide for themselves instead of letting the media choose for them.
I do agree with the original poster. Mitt Romney is a crybaby rich boy that isn't getting his way and is throwing a temper tantrum. I wish he would go away,
but he isn't so I guess we will have to endure him for a few more months if not all the way to November.

IMO- Newt is the only GOP candidate with the testicular fortitude to go after the Liberal propaganda machine and call them out just like he hammered the moderator last week. I have been hesitant to vote for Newt b/c of his man whorish ways but he may be the only one that can with stand the crap that the dems are going to throw at whomever the rep nominee is. Just seems like his attitude when attacked on a moral basis is yes I messed up, I have dealt with it already so lets move on. He seems pretty unshakable most of the time. I think he may get my vote.

Re: Mitt Romney
Who gives a schit about him getting some strange? I know its a moral issue, but I bet if you get down to it, Newt has more of a moral fiber than Barry O has. He has the F-it mentality when it comes to some things, maybe he will have the same mentality when he tells the Iranians to quit their schit or we'll turn them back into sand. We need someone up there with some balls and quite frankly I believe Newt is the only one. 6 months ago I didnt think he had a chance.
Re: Mitt Romney
+1 to not giving a crap that Newt got some strange. Every one of them, R or D, is crooked and slanted politically, and some of them morally. If things are going to get slanted, lets get someone in there that can slant things back our way. Get the entitlements under control and I don't care who you screw.

Re: Mitt Romney
Newt isn't my favorite, but I do believe he is the only one with a shot at defeating our current American Idol contestant/Prez.
