Bought the Toshiba Thrive for the wife for Christmas and she loves it. I liked the fact that you could add more memory with the SD cards and also has a USB port.
iPad has the option of 3G, which the Thrive does not, but you can always plug in your cell phone and use it when not in a WiFi area.

I believe he is referring to tethering the Thrive when WiFi is not available.

With the newer versions of Itunes......you can make your phone a wifi hotspot and use the ipad with it. I'm referring to an iphone and ipad.tombstone wrote:Drakeshead wrote:+1mfalkner wrote:Check out the toshiba Thrive. Android OS, on board SD slot and USB port.

Re: OT- Tablet PC's
I use my Thrive for work. Got a MiFi wireless hub for when I'm out of range of a wifi hotspot, so I've (almost) always got Net access. At first I wasn't so worried about this, but some of my apps like AutoCAD WS have to have net access to work properly.

This is what I am refering to. We have an Android guide book that gives step-by-step directions on this. The new iPhone iOS 5 operating system turns an iPhone in to a WiFi hotspot. Then you just enable bluetooth and it is supposed to go from there. We have never used this feature, but the book says it will work.Deltaquack wrote:With the newer versions of Itunes......you can make your phone a wifi hotspot and use the ipad with it. Ace I have a good Bible app on mine too but I wish I could get my Wordsearch to run on it.

Youversion. I had Logos, and it's OK, but Youversion is pretty much the best I've found for Android. I still prefer WordSearch on my PC, but have Youversion on my Thrive and my iPhone.
Re: OT- Tablet PC's
And, YouVersion has audio - will read to you.
