Gentlemen,

I have a suggestion and a challenge. For those of us who have grown a moustache for hunting season, let's keep them until St. Patricks Day, and then auction them off with the proceeds going to Prostate Cancer Research. The idea was mentioned earlier in the original "Stash" thread.

Interested? What are your thoughts? and how do we want to do it?

so, for those of you that have participated, how is $$ raised for the "stache"?? you just go find somebody and say "hey, will you give me $200 to keep my 'stache until st. patty's day?" ....or is there a registry somewhere that you sign up on and the $$ is donated per person by another foundation???


i don't know any of the details, but i'm up for doing it...if i live long enough, i WILL need the research that has and will be done on the issue...just a fact, all men will have a prostate issue, if you live long enough.

My thought is that we get together on St. Patrick's Day and auction them off. The person who wins a moustache at auction gets to shave (or keep) said moustache as they see fit, and the person who has said stash 'shaved' has to keep it that way for a specified period of time, say 24 hours.

So, under this idea, if your girlfriend won the right to shave your moustache, and she shaves it down to a 'Hitler', then you'd have to keep it like that for the stated period of time.

i would but i just shaved mine and i am getting married the week after and i have been told no stache for the wedding and i cant have the for the engagement photos also. so maybe next year

Your children would get a kick out of seeing their dad rocking a stash in the wedding photos when they get older. Willing to bet there are many dudes on this board that had father's rocking stashes on the wedding day (with the pastel blue tux and pirate shirts).

Aaaah now, don't give him too much of a hard time. My grandmother told the man that married my cousin that he needed to shave "that old ugly beard off of his purdy face" before the wedding. And nobody argues with a grandmother.

We'll just put blackhawk0718 in charge of the refreshments for the evening.

well its a military wedding and i have to have my stache in regs and that makes me look like i support Hitler and thats just not it

So who all on here is growing one, and willing to participate in an auction? Think about it and let's see what happens.

I will gladly provide the electric razor. Who has a place where this little fundraiser can be held? (We can probably get it held at the Mississippi State Health Department if we wanted.) Does anyone have contacts in the media? I'll bet that this'll make a whale of a news item.

Any additional ideas? We can do this. Let's make it happen.

How would it work? People give you money to shave it off like bosses, spouses, girlfriends? I'm willing to do it, but my friends most likely wouldnt put up the coin butwould rather me walk around like an idiot.....but I'd still do it for a good cause.

We open the floor to bidding on each individual moustache (much like "Storage Wars" on tv), and whoever pays the most money for the moustache has the right to shave said moustache however they wish. The shavee agrees to keep the shaved stash for a specified period of time - say 24 hours. Proceeds of the auction go to prostate cancer research in the name of ducksouth.

Really guys, this is doable. Let's not make this hard, let's just make this happen.
