He is officially back for the Texas A&M game. Just in time.

The promise we had has been flatlined by Tunsil/NCAA $#!+ saga and injuries all over the place...I'm just over it it's not fun. I wholeheartedly believe they can win every game on the schedule and I don't believe they were over hyped because they had/have the talent to beat anybody in the country, but something has changed since the Bama game somewhere between injuries and coaching...I hope they prove me wrong and become watchable before Thanksgiving.
Yet another instance where this season is just feeling crap, this team needs a big win and some swagger badly, it feels flat and I'm ALMOST expecting them to lose on Saturday in Memphis...and I expect a crappy ending by standard of the expectations and talent.REBEL DUCK wrote:Sound like the death football player one loss and not getting to start just quit.

Same it sucks, but you know what... We aren't 2-10 right now like we were just a few years ago. Think Ohio State and USC liked being down after winning National Championships? No, but every team is going to go through it. It sucks we have so many injuries and the NCAA decided to be dicks about Tunsil, but there is nothing we can do about that. Just have to suck it up, and I'll continue to watch my Rebs with the same passion and excitement as I have since I was a kidmfalkner wrote:camlock wrote:for whatever it's worth...I'm done with this season, there is no excitement left. Nope. I've watched them many a year when beating the non-conference teams was cause to celebrate. They are still fun to watch and I'ma be watching them win or lose.
I remember a quote attributed to Steve Sloan back when I was a kid. When asked about the team's prospects for the season, his response was "well, we're small, and slow, but we're dumb"
All of that aside...it hasn't looked like the same team or coaches since they left Tuscaloosa...something ain't rightsab316 wrote:Same it sucks, but you know what... True dat. But I expect it's hard to stay that "up" for any length of time. Just hope they can conjure it for our remaining SEC games. And, no I'm not overlooking Memphis, just expect SEC teams to be even better.[/quote]mfalkner wrote:[All of that aside...it hasn't looked like the same team or coaches since they left Tuscaloosa...something ain't right
I get all that, but specifically speaking of the current Ole Miss football team...I'm not referring to them not playing at their highest level every game, not referring to them playing down to Vandy or getting beaten by Florida...the air around this program is odd and it's not what it was in September...between injuries, NCAA, defections, or some other number of things...maybe getting Tunsil back and a bit more healthy will turn things back...I don't knowmshunter77 wrote: Nick Saban had a great quote one time saying you can only get your team to play to its full potential 3 or maybe 4 games a year and hopefully it is the right games. For the other games you may have injury issues, just trying to cruise by a team, or whatever. That is what seperates the great teams from the good teams. Although it is not easy to reach the top tier but it is 10x harder to stay there. We have seen it with Ole Miss and State last year and this year. Look around the country and USC, Oregon, FSU, Oklahoma, and others have been at the top but have fallen back down. Alabamas rn has been extremely impressive to stay at the top for 8 years now. Yeah they did not win a national championship every year but they were in the hunt for it every year and just a play or two away from playing for it most years. Not sure we will ever see another run like it with the way college football has changed.
