I heard he caught some guys hunting on Christmas Day once and he paddled up to them in a ditch behind them, when he got close enough for them to hear him he started singing "here comes Santa Claus". Haha.

DSG, my invitation to you to come hunt with us this season has been revoked. It's bad enough we were going to have Coastes in the blind with us, now we gotta share the blind with a buncha damned outlaws ?
I look at game wardens like any other person/profession, you're going to have some good and some bad and 1 or 2 assholes mixed in the bunch.

The law is written too vague.
Some of you guys are saying tough luck, you are guilty. WRONG. If that was the case every one of us would be guilty. You can buy/make shells as small as 1 3/4" in length pretty easily.
ARE WE ALL hunting with illegal guns? The way the law states, yes.
I have plead not guilty to this exact offense and it ended up being thrown out of court. The gun and the shells in yours or your hunting party's possession go hand in hand. If I wasn't on my own I would get a little more in depth.
Where are you at Wingman? What are your thoughts?
you're not alone in thinking this. I'm agree with ya. I would go to court and fight it. but then again I do that for a living.

Well, now that everyone seems to have weighed in on the situation, let me put a little twist on it (and I'm sure this has been asked before....
I shoot an older model SBE. Nothing has been changed in the 15 or so years I have hunted with it except the recoil spring in the butt stock. However, it can hold 1-3.5" in the chamber, 2-3.5" in the tube, and 1-3.5" floating under the bolt carrier. Technically I have been hunting illegally for 15 years, no?

I'll answer the question posed earlier about why we have chokes at all. It's so the ducks have at least a sporting chance. Let's say a flock comes in and you are loaded for bear with 1 in the pipe and with a mag extender on you got 6 or seven waiting. You are going to unload all the shells on that one flock and if you are any good knock down your 6 plus might accidentally hit more. With only 3 you get at most 3 and have to wait on another flock to come in to finish your limit if one even does come in. For argument lets say they are all gadwalls and not even bother with only being able to shoot 4 mallards, 1 pintail, blah, blah, blah.
