I have a friend that is a convicted felon and he was told he could hunt with a muzzleloader because it isn't a considered a firearm.

If this stuff has taught us anything, its that you might not want to hunt with your convicted felon friend and his muzzeloader.

party hunting and going a few over on accident is a far crying from making a cell phone call to get someones liscene # who isnt there and shooting his limit, and then falasfiy the paperwork on the birds.... plus 10 honks over aint no accident. read the indicment, theres some collaratal damage in there, but theres also so sure nuff rougish stuff. travis

Not that it affects the price of rice in China, but from an FFL standpoint a muzzleloader does not fall under the same rules and regulations of a "firearm". They are shippable by someone without an FFL and do not require 44-73's. As a former dealer, I was NEVER required to treat muzzleloaders the same as rifles, pistols, or shotguns. Now, that's not saying there isn't a stipulation under felony laws that prohibits them from owning them.

The question is, how do you define a "firearm"...some states define it differently...and some states even say a convicted felon can't have a bow, etc....

You can put 'em in a big pile for a pic and not be "party hunting." What you never see in those videos is the guy receiving the dog with the duck say: "Give that bird to Fred, he shot it."
So many ducks, so little time....

Very ironic. However, that video is several years old.

I am holding in my possession, "Bill Jordan's Advantage Max 4 presents FALLIN' SKIES 3 featuring Phil Robertson, The Duck Commander and Jeff Foiles, Foiles Migrators. 80 minutes of more extreme waterfowling from Team Realtree! Join Jeff Foiles on 16 smokin' hunts across North America! Plus a bonus hunt with The Duck Commander."

Wondering if Bill Jordan or Phil Robertson will have a comment on the situation...
