If I live in the state, and Pay state Taxes..I should have every right to be drawn first...If someone was fishing in your favorite fishing hole in Alabama, you would feel the same way.
We used to hunt Mathews for years..Now..How many MS Tagged vehicles do you ever see there????? Answer..NONE!!! That burns my butt to see people from freaking North Carolina Over hear hunting..Why??? They can travel less and hunt in Missouri where there are supposed to be more ducks...It's just very Frustrating. And before I get threats about this and Stupid Comments from out of staters..Just stop and Think if it was happening in your state..how would it affect you and how would you feel. I don't have anything against people from out of state, but when Public land is not public to Residents anymore, then something has to give...

If it makes you feel any better I didnt get drawn anywhere. I have never hunted matthew's and I dont want to get in that circus over there. I hate turned into a mad house and turned into a draw. The guys I hunt with, who live in MS by the way, hunted over there back when it wasnt so crowded and have some very good stories. I wish I could of gotten the chance to hunt it many years ago.
If someone was in fishing hole that I like to fish thats fine, its not mine. They put in the effort to find it and it is on PUBLIC land, thats part of it. Ill just go on about my business and hope they catch the hell out of them. I guess Im the only one who doesnt have a problem with people who hunt ethically and legally on public lands. There are plenty of places to hunt and if someone is in a spot I would like to hunt, I just go to another that I have scouted. Sometimes its hell to get in there and its sometimes a long walk, but I understand I have to do that if I want to enjoy the outdoors. Goodluck this season buckwabit.

If everyone would just hunt the county they live in, the problem would be solved.
That would mean 95% of you on this board would be hunting the Rez and those of us who grew up hunting holes down the road from our houses in the Delta could go back to doing that again.

Well....I guess this is the best I can do on short notice........guess I'll be using this.........

Will 'that' work?
Rob, this is the motor you coulda had.......not for sale now because it burns ethanol......even after sitting-up for 8 years.

It fired-up on the 2nd 'pull'.......( I forgot to 'choke' it on the first pull)
By the way.....that's another custom-ordered trailer from 'SureRide' of Maben/Mathiston, MS.

I'd love it if they went to a no mechanical motor policy on all wmas. Paddles for canoes, kayaks, small jonboats, or anything else you care to use. Put the physical work back into hunting and you'll see the real sportsman. It would cut down on 90% of the problems with public land hunting.

I totally agree........as it is now......he who makes the biggest testicle of himself (has the biggest mud motor and the least concern for everyone else's and his own well-being), gets to the spot, first.

Kevin and Ed have the waterfowl's best interest in mind. However, do you want to know why they don't drive to Missouri? Because it's draw hunt only. Why go where you don't have gauranteed hunt when you can come here? Government mandates don't work in any form. You just have to accept the oos'er issue, but the draw hunts are something that all duck hunters should rail against. I understand some small areas need it. However shell restrictions and some ethics rules along with some major cracking down with these rules will cut this stuff out. Some weekend warriors love draws, because they have a gauranteed hunt. But they are the minority. A small group should not dictate the majority, although that seems to be the trend in all aspects of society today. The great thing about our wmas is, unlike refuges, decisions are made and swayed locally. Which is why local government is the best government. You want to see crowds dissapate? Stop the draw hunt trend, it's that simple. Folks are tired of the government restricting their everyday lives. But as long as folks sit around things will keep on -a- changin'.

Way too many hunters not near enough land, public and private. Atleast private you can control it, if you want that spot there is a way to get it.

I like the idea of boat restrictions on WMAs....I mean it would be sort of like stock car racing...say the max HP was 6 or 7....imagine the engineering and mechanics people would come up with to get the slight edge....sounds like a great boat race....what about having more than one motor?....would that be allowed?....I could see a boat with three small engines strapped on the back

....think we can make a fair set of rules to go by..............
