And his "Gamewarden" uncle too! There are numerous places up and down that river that the landowners won't let you hunt. I can think of 4 or 5 within just a few miles of Chotard. I don't know why they think they have to pick on Tara. Just come north a little bit Im sure he can get accomedated! Just about guarantee a guilty conviction in Issaquena Co. Everyones guilty up there!

That’s the thing that gets me about all this. The whole screw Tara and their guides stuff. I'm not the law nor am I a Tara Guide...just know em. Tara owns the land and runs a damn good HUNTING business and does a lot for the wildlife everybody on this forum loves to chase. Those guides are salt of the earth folks that I would trust them with my life and are good people with good families that probably don’t make half the money that the lowest earning guy on this site earns. They’re just trying to make an honest living doing what all of us love to do. I get a kick out of the Grey Pupon comment cause those guys probably wouldn’t even "get it". I’d put my money on those guys up against almost anything anybody could throw at em!!!!!!!

They haven’t done nuten to nobody. Maybe one out of all of em gives a chit about a killing a duck and the sheriff don’t give a rat’s ass about killing a deer with a bow so all the conspiracy theories are junk. I can’t speak for them but I believe it all boils down to this, it’s theirs…not ours. It was becoming too much and it’s effecting their business and they don’t want people trespassing on their land…period. I’d be curious to here the answer to the question that Muddinram2duck ask about the liability piece. Nobody is “entitled” just because you’ve done it before for years…it doesn’t make it Legal or the law. Someone posted that the RICH are taken our duck hunting away. Man….that sounds like something Hillary Clinton would say. I got a feeling that not a whole lot of us are voting for that c--- bag!!

I said the rich are taking our duck hunting away. I've said it before and I'll say it a million times till they lower the limit to 3 ducks and the rich stop hunting. They leased our good land out from under us by offering astronomic amounts for the land we were getting for free or for very little, and/or buy the land for themselves, then put in CRP and only hunt the damn place once or twice a season and then what do you have, SANCTUARY, TOO MANY OF EM!!!

THAT IS MY SOAP BOX!!

Sorry my man. When they lower the limit to 3, all the casual hunters who gave up golf as the cool sport of the moment will get out. And the "rich" will scoop up the land newly available. The "rich" are gleefully waiting for lower ducks limits and reduced seasons. Look at England. The "rich" will NEVER stop hunting. They don't have to work, just hunt. Just thought I would let ya know.

Man I have been told NUMEROUS times by MANY people, mainly the rich, they they wouldn't waste their time to go kill 3 ducks. If the limit would go to 3 we would get rid of TONS of guys who just go to kill 18 or more ducks with their buddies.

GC, you are the first one I EVER heard think that!!! :?

3 duck limits WILL get our hunting back!!! :?

Because it's the REAL duck hunters sport. The guys who get on here and LIVE, EAT, BREATHE duck hunting, the guys who go out and kill one duck and consider it a successful hunt because they got to spend time with outdoors with their buddies or their dog or both. THE TRUE DUCK HUNTERS, it is OUR SPORT, not theirs!!!

I said OURS, not MINE

Yo:

Why are "wealthy" people not true duck hunters? I am not "wealthy" but I spent 7 years in school, and a long time paying dues to be able to afford a better place to duck hunt than the public marshes and WMA's I grew up hunting as a kid. I hunt 4 or 5 days a week, in the local public marsh down here and the delta, practice shooting and calling all year, train dogs every morning at daylight, and every night under the lights at the soccer field, but I ain't a "real" duck hunter? Baloney.

I hunt with 2 doctors who grew up on sharecropper farms, went from hunting for food to hunting ducks every single day they can. Love to see a doctor crawling through mud with a decoy sack. Love to see 'em on a tractor putting in millet. They are probably reading this post now laughing. They ain't real duck hunters? They don't "live it and breathe it?" Why does working your booty off to be a success make you less of a "real" duck hunter?

The quick answer is, that logic is dumb. You would be shocked at just how well off some of the quiet lurkers on this board are in real life. Wealth don't make you any more, or any less of a "real hunter."

I represent a lot of wealthy folks, who are more than happy to go kill 3 ducks, and will buy up a good hole sight unseen on the recomendation of someone who's experiance they trust. I can assure you, they are waiting for the low limit years to come back to go on a buying binge. Wealthy folks know the value of land. They seldom unload it, and always are looking for more. Don't kid yourself.

I have tried to avoid this post, but Gulf Coast, I'm with you on this one. I have reviewed too many legal opinions to count on this subject for the love of the sport, not because I want to mess with Tera or any officer of the law.
There are a couple issues that are not obvious here. One is that the land in question is not on the MS River...it was at one time, but now it is a lake.
Second, is the ruling of Parm vs. Shumate in the 5th Circuit. The lake in question is almost four miles inland from the natural banks that is connected by a man made canal. Even though, at or above flood stage the water covers this property, the entry way is through the man made canal.
My recommendation to those of you and myself included that do not have the spare $15 million laying around to buy your own land, is that you should respect the officers request to move, suck up to someone that does have the $15 million or already has the land and offer to do work for them in the offseason in exchange for a few hunts, or go to school and get you a degree that will land you a position that pays the big bucks in the future.
Again, Gulfcoast you can hunt with me anyday.

Thanks Roach!

I am not picking a fight with Pintail Hunter. I am sure he is a swell guy at heart. Will probably run hunt tests with him sooner or later. I just get SO TIRED of reading how the "wealthy" which always turns into "doctors and lawyers" are screwing the sport up for everyone because they ain't "real" duck hunters. The guy next to me with an axe or a chainsaw cutting ice into sheets is as freaking "real/true/hardcore" as anyone else, no matter what his checkbook looks like.

I respect everyone rights, and I expect them to to respect mine.
