What is entertaining is watching a grown man bounce around like a little girl with a spider on her back when they cross paths with a snake. My long time friend and hunting partner is not scared of them at all but kills every one he comes across. I have seen him put his crappie pole down and pick up logs and beat snakes to a pulp.
I have also seen snakes chase him for no apparent reason short of him being too close.
I really don't have a problem with snakes as long as they are not near/in my dwellings.
I will walk past one and as long as it shows no aggression I will let it pass.
It is simply a part of nature. And yes I have removed some in the past and will likely remove some in the future. I am however understanding to the point that I know they serve a purpose in the wild and it is just wrong to me to kill them for the sake of killing.
Let one be under the covers with me one night and I will look like a girl with a spider on my back. They have their place, just not in my house or bed.
If a man chooses to kill a snake I don’t see him being any less a man. I don't look down on him. I’m simply sorry that he doesn't share the same respect for wildlife that I have.
You know they are pretty cool to watch. I watched one with a frog one time that took almost 5 minutes to swallow. Nature in it's purist.

Sardis is loaded with moccasins. If I was all of yall, I'd fish Enid or Grenada this spring. I've spent the off-season on a strict anti-venom regime and am now fortunate enough to possess immunity. I'll let yall know how the spawn goes.

I aint as nice as duckmen - - - - That is just pure STUPID! Grow up and get some respect for the nature you claim to enjoy. I guess some folks just get a charge out of killin. Those same ones are usually the ones who spotlight cause it is fun to kill stuff.
I think the fine would be too light. Maybe they could drop them off at deep in those woods right after the first cold snap in September! They would sure learn how to walk AROUND stuff that is dangerous.
