I have a browning gold myself but my buddy just purchased a winchester super x 2 and I love it. Never seen it in action but it sure feels good to shoulder, all around just a great feeling gun.

I hunted for years with a Rem. 1100 mag. and never had a problem. I then bought a 1187 camo 5 years back and had to replace 2 broken parts. When I received the most recent replacement part, I noticed that it was very rough with poor machine work. I decided that I had had enough and bought a benelli m2. I have only had it a week, but it is fast and light and has few moving parts to break. My son has had a m1 for 3 years and never had a problem.

OK, just got a call from the gunsmith, my 11-87 super mag. is a POS. After a lengthy conversation with him I am steering clear of the 11-87. He said it basically was a mass-produced hunk o' junk and the only reason he worked on mine is I have brought him a lot of business from my hunting buddies. It won't feed the new shell into the chamber 50% of the time. He's had it for a week so far.
Dang gun only has 2K rounds through it, I got it last year before duck season.
He said he can't get the parts for it for another two weeks. He basically said the only shotgun Remington currently makes that is worth a lick is the 870.
He also said that the only two auto's he would buy were the Benelli and the Beretta. He said they will both hang up once in a while, but they are by far the two best out there.
I asked him if he'd seen the new Extrema 2 and he said, "no, no one has brought one in yet." Now this is good info that he hasn't seen one yet, but it's only been out for a few months. Has anyone put a few cases of ammo through the new Extrema 2?

i have run about 500-750 rounds through my Xtrema2 and had no problems.....a great deal of these were with light loads (skeet, dove, and quail) and it never had a problem....you just gotta make sure every case or so to make sure you dont have a powder buildup (cause i used some cheap shells) that will prevent it from locking up all the way.....i know how to take the gun all the way apart and how to troubleshoot it, but i dont know the names of any of the parts
shouldnt have to clean the xtrema2 too often....its a well built, killin machine....and for a 3.5" gun, it is insanely light and balanced....not sure how they did it, but i love it

I ain't had any problems outta 3 Berettas. I ain't had any problems outta 4 Browning Golds, with a combined 80K rounds through them, and a 10 hour saltwater bath. I have had 2 jamomatic SBE's, and sold both of the stovepiping POS's. Course, I ain't no gunsmith, just a silly guy who hunts 4 days a week.

Seem too Xtrema2 you?-
How does it handle the heavy 3 1/2 inch loads? Does it kick like a mule? I have handled the gun a couple of times, but not shot one. It is very light, which makes me thik it will really kick on the goose loads. That is one thing I like about the Rem, that sucker is heavy and you don't feel $H%& when you fire those 3 1/2 inchers.
The Extrema2 may be my next gun. I need to take one to the range.

koz,
I think it handles the recoil actually quite well....I am a young' un, but my no means a brute at 170 lbs, and have just never been bothered by recoil while hunting...I guess I am so excited every time I pull the trigger at ducks, I wouldnt care if the thing punched me in the nose.
But seriously, the recoilis not bad, and I just bought the regular Xtrema2....for another 100 bucks, they have a kick-off system or something like that that is supposed to reduce recoil even further. I put in an extended briley choke that is ported, and that actually made a recognizable difference in the recoil as well. The gun isnt as light as it feels when you shoulder it because how balanced it is....when you throw it up just in a shop, it feels like a 20 ga, i know....
try one out, you'll see....the kick, it aint no thang

Where is the best place to get one of those Briley ported chokes for the Extrema. I have several people tell me that is what I need to add to this gun.

i ordered it directly from
http://www.briley.com
thats the easiest way to get the exact one you want (for instance I wantd black because i have the black synthetic xtrema2)
