Turns out I ain't gonna be in town for the Knoxville show. (I don't wanna talk about it) and will need to get rid of a couple of ticks.

Sunday Oct 9, Knox civic coliseum. Will let them go at face value.

Just gotta get rid of them.

You boys live it large, cause one day it will be harder to go to concerts like this because responsibilities will take over and you will have to consider what you do and what people will think if you are seen at a place like this. It's a bummer! Wanting to go hear music but can't go because of all the ways folks have a good time there and you can't afford the challenges to your reputation.

And, then your buddies tell your children all the stories from the glory days and you have to explain why they can't do the things you did that your parents told you that you couldn't do but you did anyway but they better not try it because you know all the tricks and will catch them and they will be in trouble!

It gets real complicated real fast, so dig it while you can! 8)

Crow, you're right...there are those that associate these concerts with the "scene"...but there are those of us that go to the show for the music and don't participate in the "scene".... as long as i keep my nose clean i hope no one holds it against me (and when the time comes i will explain to my twin daughters that when they are 30 they can go to any concert they want...until then they play by my rules  )

I guess my p.o.v. is different because i grew up knowing my dad went to woodstock...but by the same token knowing that just because you went to one of these shows doesn't mean you had to get into the "scene" as it were...in fact he impressed upon me the need to not participate in that scene in order to be successful. But, maybe i'm an anomaly in that i never did get into that, and others don't find it as easy....

I think you would be suprisde at the amount of older "professional" people you run across at a panic show. I don't think that the mold fits as well as it once did with them. They have a large following of older people that aren't in to the extracurricular activities and I think people are starting to realize that and not expect everyone at a concert to be a trippin' hippie.

Cant believe this was worth 6 pages. I thought it was about the Gas panic. Go figure? Oh yeah, how many top 10s do they have? Ever? Just curious. I am not a pot head so I dont keep up with them much. I was a little harsh but I just cant stand em! Phish either, or the Grateful Dead, or Michael Jackson, and talents such as these!

how many top 10s do they have?

What the does that matter?

Have you turned on the radio in the past 20 years?
It's all crap.

They've stood the test of time and have a very loyal fan base.

More than I can say for 95% of the artists out there.

BTW, to put Michael Jackon in the same sentence with the above mentioned groups is a travesty.

that comment is spoken truly out of ingorance. Whether you like them or not, they are undeniably (sp) some of the best talent of todays generation.

Also, the other guys you mentioned were the best talent around in thier day. (including that wierdo Michael Jackson)

To each his own. I would personally rather listen to a pine knot in a saw mill. As far as the talent ....they got more than me , but compared to other musicians .....i dont think so. They remind me of Coconut Pete on Club Dread.

I'll be there, 33rd birthday too! I only miss about 5-6 days of hunting during duck season and 3 of those will be Panic New Year's in Atlanta.
Don't get to go as much as I used to, but I'm somewhere plus or minus 150 shows since '91. Once I got out of all my school then law school it was a lot harder to hit the road. Work's alot more important than class! I went to Austin/Houston in '03, four days before the bar exam (at least i studied on the way home, and passed)
It's not like the old days, but at least i got to red rocks, jackson hole, and missoula this summer. I'm hitting mem, nash, jackson and maybe L.R and Birmingham if it rains. I run the combine, and swap out with my brother running the picker late night, but he's got my schedule.
