To answer my earlier question about how the Greeks came to the 4 year cycle for the Olympics... Originally they were based on the 8 year cycle that it takes the star Venus to complete its journey around the heavens. But, that was too long, so they halved it to the current 4 year cycle.
Ok...question 2
What is the most often recurring ratio in the natural world? To clarify...take any natural event or thing, divide it by something else (usually another part of the same thing or event) and you will come up with this number. The number is thought to be the most perfect natural number in evidence at this time. Many mathemeticians and scientists call it the Holy Ratio, as it is thought to occur too consistently to have evolved ramdomly.
By the way, it's the first day of school here in Gwinnett Count, GA!

the golden ratio is the same as the number Phi, or somewhere around 1.61803 there's a few more #'s at the end of it but i dont' remember what they are. To get to it, put the #'s in the # line in order and add by the previous # then divide by it's reciprocal. ie. 1 + 1 =2 +1=3+2=5+3=8+8=13 divide each # by the one that comes before it and you come up with somewhere around 1.61803 everytime. Eventually you'll get to the golden mean which is 1.618034, it repeats itself at this point. Kinda weird stuff and don't axe me how i know's dis, i mights be edjumacated after all as the po ole monkey would say.

Life of Ant
1. When ants find food, they lay down a chemical trail, called a pheromone, so that other ants can find their way from the nest to the food source.
2. Worker ants may live seven years and the queen may live as long as 15 years.

The answer crow is looking for is Phi, not Pi. Phi, also knowns as Fibonacci's Number, is a pretty cool phenomenon when you really get to studying it. It's value is 1.618 and on down the decimal places.
One of my favorite places where it occurs: there are 162 games in a baseball season.
In fact, if you take the days of a Liberal duck season and divide by 365, you get 0.1643, which is just a moved decimal from approximating Fibonacci's Number.
