I agree to a point about the snobbish attitude at Big Buck. But twice now they've been more than accomodating when I bought 250 dollar waders (zippered) that didn't work out...ended up swapping me a higher value regular wader with no hassle. Then just this week they did the same thing on a quality sleeping bag that my son used in the Rockies...swapped the defective bag for one of higher quality...no questions asked. That's good service folks.

I agree Feather, Lewis will stand behind any product they sell, and I too have never had a problem with an exchange. Let's hope the home town atmosphere and customer service stays the same in Jackson. I have spent a ton more money in Big Bucks than I have in Gander but sometimes you get tired of some of the snutty attitudes of some of the girls that work there. I have bought golf equipment, boots, waders, shells, guns, fishing stuff. They have a great selection of fishing gear but are weak in the waterfowl department. If they only knew how many people from Hattiesburg drive to Mean Mallard, Bass Pro and Lakeway in Grenada on their way to the duck clubs to pick up needed supplies, they might carry more.

I think some of the mean mallet staff will be around when the name changes so the new owners will have some guidence into what people around here want and don't want.

Bottom line is that at the end of every day you need to be in the black and if it means that I have to sell baseball uni's to help stay afloat then it is what it is and that is what it is.

I just got some info that Big Buck isn't buying Mean Mallard that what they are doing is renting the building because Mean Mallard is going out of business. Supposedly it is to service their customer base in Jackson area that they already have through schools and stuff due to growing gas prices and demand by customers that know them. A friend of mine knows the marketing lady over there and said that tons of people drove down to use their salvage division store "second wind" in the fall from jackson and that those same people are using their website to buy. From what I am gathering it is a customer service thing...just heard so decide to post.
