The politicians don't necessarily want to give the "rebate" to higher end incomes. That group would be more likely to rat hole it and not spend where as the lower end will spend it before they get it.

I agree but my point is how can you call it a "rebate" if your not paying taxes. Also by definition a recession must last 2 quarters. Aren't we jumping the gun alittle. Not that I couldn't use the money

if it's 1200 per working(or whatever) couple PLUS 300 per child i be gettin 2100 around june..

i would like to hear alan greenspan/s take on this.
I recently purchased his book and he is a very smart man in my opinion. He knows more about the economy than anybody in washington.
this is the most rediculous way to stimulate the economy that i have ever heard of. Some things the govt does just clearly does not make any sense. I guess the money i get will just be more that i will be taxed on for 2008. we need some new leadership in washington all across the board.

I believe the max you can get is up to $600 and $1200 regardless of how many kids you have. At least that is how I have read the press releases. They have used the working, "up to ........., with $300 for each child" The up to part leads me to believe its a cap.
Hell, I hope it's per kid. That's another $1,200 for me baby making mine $2,400.00.
