Vern,
The Echo calls are very easy to blow, especially the timber calls, reason I'm leaning towards getting those more so than the open water model. With less calling experience, I would recommend getting a wood call for the simple fact that it has more of a raspy, bottom end out of the box than an acrylic does. Acrylics have a more crisp, clearer tone than woods. However, I prefer acrylics for the simple fact that I don't have to worry about the insert locking up in the barrel, which happens alot with wood calls due to moisture, swelling, etc....and because the tone never changes with the acrylic, unlike the wood does as time passes. I believe there are a few guys that are buying an echo that have little experience blowing acrylics, as well as single reeds.
Another thing, when you call in your info to Robb, you can tell him how you want your call tuned, and he or Rick will hook you up.

I do not mind a wood cocabola, if we have to go that route, but with it being engraved, will this have an effect on the woods lasting abilities?
Brad, I don't think the engraving will effect the wood. RNT and Gaston have been engraving their wood calls for awhile now, and I haven't heard of any probs with them doing so.
With as many requests as I'm receiving for acrylics, I'm wonder whether or not Robb will want to make 5-7 extra wood calls for those requesting them. That will be a major question that I'll ask monday.
I can move the call-in deadline up to Wednesday, but I've got it set on Friday because for sure by then Robb will have the design laid out for production, and all the call requests will be finalized. I do suspect that it wil take awhile for Rick and Robb to make these 40 or 50 so calls, since they still custom make their calls by hand, unlike RNT with their CNC machine where they can spit'em out left and right in a day's time. The earlier you call in, the quicker your call gets made in the number process.
Also, for the numbering process. I will discuss with Robb whether to sequence the calls as say " 1 of 40", or just putting the "1" on the call. If the final total number of calls ordered doesn't end in a 0 or 5, I say just put the number down instead of " 1 of 43", or "7 of 47", etc. I'm pretty sure I am buying 2 calls, with the possibilty of 3, so as of right now I've got dibs on #1 and #22.
If we do the numbering sequence, when you call in, you can either take the next numbered call to be made or choose whatever number you want.......first come, first serve basis on that route.

I figure that he'll want to start taking orders possibly next wednesday at the earliest.
Robb will be able to tell me what all can be engraved on the backside of the call, since the frontside will be Echo engraving.

I'm waiting on Robb to send the logo designs before we start ordering. I'll post the designs so all of you will have the opportunity to voice your opinion.
Hopefully, I'll have the logos posted by Wednesday, Friday at the latest.
