My mistake, I was thinking of the year before. Even though Alabama finished in the Top 15 defenses last year, I can't remember what exactly their pass D was ranked. But heaven forbid that means I'm ignert to foobawl no-ledgemshunter77 wrote:
And with the best secondary in football comment you proved just how bad your knowledge of football is. Bamas secondary was average at best and you are the only fan that would label them as the best. They had Landon Collins at safety and that was it. Cyrus Jones started playing better late in the season but was still spotty. On this I don't think anybody else would disagree with me.

Oh dear gawd! And I thought State fans were delusional last year. It's the 3rd freakin' game of the year and people are talkin' about the conference championship game and the playoffs! I don't know if they've got a new variety out there on "the farm" or what, but I need to get my hands on some of whatever y'all are huffing.

That's what I said from the start...some people just don't like the messenger. Be careful though, some may consider this trolling and rocking jollies.JaMak84 wrote:Oh dear gawd! It's the 3rd freakin' game of the year and people are talkin' about the conference championship game and the playoffs!

don't like our chances, honestly, if for nothing else than it's damned hard to beat a nick saban coached team two years in a row - never mind the game's in tuscaloosa. I understand we've played a rather plain-jane defense the first two games, but something about what i've seen makes me very very uncomfortable. there has just seemed to be a lack of urgency on the D's part. I do, however, really like the kelly kid and think his arm will keep us in most games this year.
Glad i'm not a betting man on this one.

Re: Ole Miss v Alabama Prediction Thread
Ole Miss is going to win this game with relative ease. I think it will be close at halftime and eventually the Ole Miss defense clamps down and the Ole Miss offense shows separation. I look for a 10-17 point win for the Rebels.
From a roster standpoint, Bama is more talented based on recruiting rankings. However, I think this is a match-up problem for Bama.
The key to the game will be Kelly's ability to convert third downs with his legs. If he does that three or more times in the game, OM wins with room to spare. He will keep the OM offense on the field because he can run. If you look at the game's Bama has lost in the last 5 years, it is almost always to a team with a QB that is a run threat (even old Jordan Jefferson beat Bama with his legs and he is arguably the worst starting QB for a SEC champ in history).
Manziel, Jefferson, Cardale Jones, Bo Wallace, Cam Newton and Nick Marshall could all run. They all beat Bama by converting third downs and by preventing Bama from stacking the box. This will open up the OM run game a little too.
Saban has always struggled against mobile QBs. Heck, in 2003 LSU lost to a true freshman in Chris Leak because he could scamble just a little. That was LSUs only loss of the year and they went on the win the title.
Nick Saban's teams rarely lose, but when they do, it is to a mobile QB.

I hope you don't win I know that we state fans can be obnoxious but dang this week I have heard 5 first round draft picks, SEC Champs, National contenders and Machine gun Kelly for Heisman. I would wait till you go 2-0 in the conference before drinking the cool aid to much. I do think you are very good and have a chance but you need to keep in mind you are Ole Miss and you will screw it up like losing to Vanderbilt, Florida or State. I think I saw somewhere that Ole Miss is 1 for the last 36 games in Tuscaloosa ( that is what was on ESPN this morning) if that is true I don't like your chances.

I am sure the Ole Miss defense will be fired up and playing with a sense of urgency. So far Kelly looks like the real deal and that is what you have to have at QB to beat Bama.gator wrote:don't like our chances, honestly, if for nothing else than it's damned hard to beat a nick saban coached team two years in a row - never mind the game's in tuscaloosa. Then it would appear he DOES have something to prove.
Dammit, Po Monk. You said this was over. Think my bookie will give me my money back?

Anyone heard Tunsil is not going to be back? I have heard that from an OM friend. He also stated that up to 20 OM players have been questioned in the last six weeks about improper benefits by the NCAA. Anyone heard anything like that? No troll, just wondering. It may just be a bad rumor...likely is a bad rumor.

Nothing to see here.........It's a distraction generated by the red elephant club. It's what they do when they feel threatened.Deltamud77 wrote:Anyone heard Tunsil is not going to be back?
