I'd put my money on Ohio State getting the 4th spot if they win out.
Re: Mississippi State @ BAMA
As you stump for OSU to take the [implied] 4th spot. That's funny.

I'm not stumping anyone. I'm just saying that's likely to happen considering there is a committee, and with that committee are agendas/politics.
Keep the faith.

Lets assume Oregon and FSU win out. They are in. Lets assume Alabama (or whoever wins the SEC for that matter) wins out. They are in.
Now there is a 4th spot.
You have a one loss Big 10 team that plays an extra game and wins their conference.
You also have a one loss Big 12 team that wins their conference.
What do you think the committee is going to do?
Maybe you guys should stick to making more excuses for losing this past weekend.
Re: Mississippi State @ BAMA
Well, they did move up to 7, but MSU, TCU, or Baylor all go before them. The only way ANY Big 10 team gets in is if all those teams lose again. And as for the equally stupid excuse comment, MSU lost because their QB pooped the bed. That's it. 'Nite.

Re: Mississippi State @ BAMA
Sensitivity levels are high after a loss...I get it.
Lots of scenarios. Been this way for weeks. But under my scenario, I think the Committee is going to do everything they can to place Ohio State in there. They have the easiest path, and that last weekend when they are winning their championship game on TV, all the one and two loss SEC teams will be at home. Urbans gonna cry and pout and get his way.
I'm not saying who i think is the better team, I'm just sayin...

Re: Mississippi State @ BAMA
Well after watching the Sunday night road to finals they all had msu at 4!!!!! Shocked but as long as they win out their only loss would be to bama so they should be in the playoffs. But this has been a bad year for the west and by the end of it I wouldn't be surprised to see ole miss end up playing in sec championship. But if msu can win at oxford that only makes their resume better with another win over a top 10 team.

It will be difficult for a one loss SEC team that did not win the conf championship to be chosen over a Big 10 or Big 12 one loss team who DID win the conf championship. I believe this format was intended to take as much power from the SEC as possible.....If OSU or TCU win out and their conf championship, they will be the #4 spot (assuming 1-3 win out).

I actually agree. If there's a way to get OSU in, it probably happens. $$

Watching the post game interviews with Dak and Robinson they knew what they didnt do to win. I think this loss will light a fire under them to do better and play better. A loss sometimes is good, just wish it would have been a close one with KY or Ark and they corrected themselves against Alabama and going forward. The first half they looked scared and were tip toeing around. Pulled it together in the second half but it was too far gone. Im not mad, its been a good season. They are the only team so far that has played 4 ranked opponents and lost one. I think the closeness we let Ark and Ky play us will affect us in the selection with the "human factor".
And I tend to agree with Webby, they(NCAA and selection committee) want to put in one from each conference. Its like the no child left behind program of college football. For State to get in the final 4, we will not only have to beat Vandy and Ole Miss, but do it in convincing fashion.

Say what you want about the BCS, if they had just kept the BCS formula and made the top 4 from those standings go to a playoff, another SEC team in the mix would be more likely.

You are most definitely correct sir!webbmaster wrote:Say what you want about the BCS, if they had just kept the BCS formula and made the top 4 from those standings go to a playoff, another SEC team in the mix would be more likely.
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.

Re: Mississippi State @ BAMA
I think its a way for them to thwart 2 SEC teams as much as possible.
Re: Mississippi State @ BAMA
Bama will not be #1, but should move to #3. MSU will probably be #4 this week with OSU at #5 and TCU at #6.........the argument will be made for OSU to eventually jump MSU if they win out due only to the fact of a conf championship on their resume. I work just outside of Starkville and many want a rematch; however, I am not sure this new playoff system will allow for that like the BCS did. OSU fans travel well and with all the $$ involved, having four teams like Bama, Oregon, FSU and OSU, can you just imagine the $$ to be made? Insane amounts.........
