Ill second this. I deal with scoundrels all the time in my parts. A simple solution would be spike strips and the such. LE has told me that they will end up locking me up over stuff like that. If anything you do could injure or indirectly injure someone your probably breaking the law.

If he is walking around in the dark looking through your stuff, I say put up an small wire electic fence. It would be hard for him to see in the dark but the show on camera when the jigaboo hits it would be priceless.

Spend the night in the place with your shotgun. First shot loaded with rock salt load and the rest buckshot in case he has a gun and you have
to drop him. If he runs after the rock salt, then it will definately be a lesson learned on his part.......maybe. Or maybe you can incapacitate
him long enough for cops to show up. Legally protecting your property and rock salt won't kill him just burn him good.

The guy is carrying a gun. He is not just looking to steal something, he is prepared to kill to get it. That guy needs to be dead NOW, before he actually kills some kid or woman over a $300 laptop he probably won't get 50 bucks for.

After 420 racin's post, I looked at the video again. Maybe it is the quality of the video, but there DOES appear to me that there is something in the prowler's right hand. Until proven otherwise, I think it is a good idea to err on the side of caution, hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

The SOB's hit us tonight. I hate a f#@$&!? thief! And to make matters worse was the stupidity of Bevis and friend. These mental delinquints only stole an eight year old push lawnmower. Of course all I saw was the gettaway truck - -- a white pickup with a regular cab and a long bed. Probably a Chevy. If you see these morons, don't let them near your stuff.

UPDATE on my instance.

Sunday afternoon, I saw a pickup matching the one I saw Saturday night, a Ford F-250 or F-350, in the apartments next to my neighborhood. Now, I'm not accusing this guy of being the thief involved. But there aren't that many long wheel based white pickups with regular cabs in the greater Clinton Metroplex. (And yes, I DID give the tag number to Clinton PD. What they do with it is beyond my control. And if any LEO's on this site want the tag number, I'll PM it to you as well.)

THAT is what scares me. Saturday night I just thought that is was a racoon, or a possum, or the neighbor's cat that knocked over the box fan in the garage. Had I known that it was a thief making off with my lawnmower, and that he had been that close to my family when he was doing bad things, I would have carried more influencial means of shooing away the varmit.

If you have a camera on your property, put a small sign up saying this property is being recorded or smile you're on camera. Put the sign in a clearly visible area. That small sign can save you in court. Although it sounds crazy, you must have signage stating that the property is being video recorded.
