I sometimes think he wants the global warming "apocalypse" to happen so he can say "I told you so!"
After all, Y2K didn't work out, and all those Y2K supplies he bought are about to expire.

No we don't really have to deal with the remaining CO2 emissions, we just buy credits and "POOF" everything is OK!
See, sensible polices for a happier planet!

Do the thousands of acres of land that my hunting club owns count? More than enough trees and oxygen producing plants on it to eat all the CO2 that I, and Al Gore can make (and Al Gore loooooooves to kick out some C02!).

And the summit of Mt. Everest contains limestone...So what?
What matters is not the cliamte on Earth over the eons, what matters according to over 90% of the SCIENTISTS whom have studied the matter, is that MANKINDS EMISSIONS OF GHGs IS CAUSING GLOBAL WARMING.
What matters is that there is more CO2 in our AIR now than there has been in at least 1MM years and perhaps as far back as 30MM years...That is not "normal", "natural" or anythign else...
What matters is that first you naysayers said there was no evidence...When the evidence was overwhelming, you said it is a communist, green, liberal, fanatic plot...
When every significant "conservative" businessman and many "conservatiive" politicians, says GW is real, it is human induced and the time for action is now, you fallbakc on the "what is normal/mankind is not big enough to influence the climate, etc BS"
60 years ago mankind detonated two bombs in Japan that burned hotter than the sun...We can- and will if left to our own devices- destroy this plant and the life on it....That is the reality no matter how you guys try to deny it...
What most perplexes/concerns me is that you guys are supposedly hunter conservationists...You supposedly care deeply about wildlife and the future of hunting...The reality is that most of you - an overwhelming percentage of you- dont know diddly squat about wildlife, wildlife conservation, the environment, etc AND to make matters worse- you dont care...This does not bode well for the future of hunting in this country...For that matter, he writing is already on the wall...The US is slowly but surely heading toward a European model of hunting where only the very, very rich hunt. If if goes that way, you will have no one but yourselves to blame.

Hammer, it's not that friggin' hot outside. And it's definitely not that much hotter than it was 10 years ago before CO2 production really ramped up. Answer this, in the perfect scenario where everyone and every company went green how much would the temperature actually decrease??? Forgetting the ungodly financial burden it would take to do that how much cooler would it really be??? Are we talking 5 degrees, 10 degrees, 20 degrees???
Do you honestly think we have the power to change the climate??? We can't even predict the weather worth a chit much less change it.

So the fact that Alaska had palm trees is a fact that the world was MUCH hotter than it is today. How do you know the earth isn't, as many climatologists have suggested, that we are in the end of an iceage.
Why have these "%90" (where ever you got that figure from) not factored in ocean currents, the FACT that the sun is more active now, rain fall, or any other major determinant of climate. You are simply using temperature as an indicator. And if you want to look up climate, it involves a whole lot more than temperature.
Further, why is it that the vast majority of these scientists that "believe" in the GW hoax, funded by gov't. If they state anything other wise, their funding is cut off. The independant scientists are the ones that are showing how GW is made up.
The head of the Huricaine prediction organization, who uses years and years of data to monitor oceanic movement and climate to predict hurricaines, states that GW is a complete farse.
It has become popular now to just say: "it's part of GW" whenever there is any abnormality in weather. "It's too hot!", global warming. "It's too cold!", global warming byproduct. "It's too dry or wet!", global warming.
Yeah many parts of the country is in a drought, but it doesn't come close to how it was in the 30's or 80's. Europe is having below "normal" cold temperatures. I haven't seen a 100 degree day yet this year, yet the longest day of the year has come and passed (sun is closer than any other day of the year).
Where is the PROOF? It may be slightly hotter than in any other time since temperature has been recorded. What does that mean to me? 100years? The earth, according to EVERY reputable, not %90, scientist agrees the the earth is well over 65 MILLION years old. The earth has had ice ages, and incredible warm periods (vastly warmer than today) in that time. Where is the undeniable proof that shows that CO2 is causing it to be 1-2 degrees hotter than usual.
The antartic icepack is thicker than it ever was since they have been measuring. Greenlands glaciers are GROWING! So the icepack close to North america is shrinking slightly, but they recede, and grow on a regular basis (regular being over many years).
The earth wasn't in a static climate before the industrial revolution. It has changed.

Bump just to keep things riled up and make sure yall knew that I hadnt gone any dmn where...Jsut dug in real deep at the salt mine but I will be back soon enough to update you and yours on the latest...
BTW1, if heat index of 105-110 in MS isnt hot, you obviously dont spend much time in the woods or on the tennis court this time of year...At age 46, I can outwork 95% of the guys on this board in the woods and I can beat 99% of your arses in tennis too so you can take it to the bank when I tell you that it is indeed hot....Ditto my buddy in Montana who built powerlines with me back in the day, runs rivers and horseback trips for a living and marathons for fun when he says that they are burning up out West....
BTW2, yall probably know more about turkey hunting than Preston Pittman so you probably werent listening to him during his presentation at the Extravaganza...Despite the 41 gobblers I've killed since takign up turkey hunting in 1993 (33 in MS, 8 out of state), I was listening very closely to Preston because there is a whole lot I can learn from him...One thing I heard him say was- and this is a direct quote:
"I aint a scientist so I cant say whether it is global warming or not but things in nature are changing. Turkeys dont act like they used to, deer dont act like they used to. The bream spawn is different and the crappie spawn is different."
The point of all of my posts is that- OF ALL THE PEOPLE ON EARTH- hunters ought to be plugged into the natural world enough to see these changes. Instead, you either deny that they are happening or- based on a philosophical approach to life that you will resist any and all change to your viewpoints, your cushioned, candy booty way of life or to whatever else it is that you have fooled yourself into believing you have to lose, at all costs to the point of complete, abject denial- you buy the BS of those whom have spun a tall tale that GW is not real...Wake up and smell the coffee boys. The facts are overwhelming- we are in deep do do on GW if serious changes are not made and but quick.

HOW ironic that you quote Aldo Leopold and deny the truth about GW...That is priceless.

Was he a GW alarmist or something??? I'm sure he would be shelling out dollars by the thousands for some carbon credits.

Get real, I know what he was about and I know what the GW crowd is about and they are from two DIFFERENT schools of thought.

You get real...Aldo Leopold was a scientist who applied science to wildlife...You ahve no idea what he was about and you have no idea what the real GW school is about....
GW is science but you and your kind are still hung up on Al Gore despite the thousands upon thousands of hard core, right wing, Republicans who get it, the business leaders who get it, the world leaders who get it, the scientists who get it....You seemingly believe its some communist plot to take over the world and that men whom are worth billions would spend their time on to sell some carbon credits? You cant be serious...
