Second day Egg Bowl Saturday, November 24, 2012:

We had 9 hunters again get their full limit of 54 ducks by 6:45 am with some spectacular shooting! Ducks were mostly gadwall with a few mallard, woodducks and widgeon. Oh we had one snow goose as well.

After booking a hunt with Catfish and crew for opening weekend, my two sons and I had one of the most gratifying, fulfilling experiences we've shared in quite some time. The hunting was spectacular; three mornings in a row we had full limits by 6:30. The gadwalls looked like a swarm of bees. At one point during the aerial attack, my oldest son could have grabbed one out of the air by his teeny tiny little orange feet.

That said, as fine as the shooting was, it seemed to take a back seat to warmth and sincerity of the genuine hospitality showed us by Catfish and his people. I could spend a great deal of time, which I don't currently have, describing just how pleasurable our overall experience really was... just know this... you can't go wrong with these guys.

Duck reports for this past weekend:

we had a total of 260 ducks killed this past weekend consisting of gadwall, mallard, bluebill, wood duck, and greenwing teal. we also had a banded wood duck for a hunter that was his first band ever!

We had 2 groups kill a total of 45 ducks with mostly mallards and gadwall with some wood duck, blue bill and one shoveler.

25 hunters got a total of 143 ducks with a bunch of mallards, gadwall, wood duck, greenwing teal, blue bill and shoveler.

22 hunters got a total of 110 ducks consisting of mostly mallards with some gadwall, wood duck, greenwing teal, blue bill and shoveler.

11 hunters got a total of 64 ducks consisting of mallard, wood duck and gadwall. We also got another banded wood duck to bump our season total up to 4 so far with 2 being mallard and 2 being wood duck!

Day 1: 15 hunters harvested a total of 34 ducks consisting of mallard, gadwall, wood duck, greenwing teal, canvasback, shoveler and Canada geese.
