Format: Each dog will receive two single marks to be retrieved consecutively at varied distances. Dogs shall be scored on each mark on a 1-10 scale. Top scoring 10 dogs will advance to a second series. Final series will be cut to the top 5 dogs and again they will receive two single marks. Puppy events will only have 2 series. All events may be cut to two series depending on the entry numbers and time.

*Handling on marks is an automatic 5 point deduction. We may change this after talking with the judges and discussing it some more. One of the marks in each class will be very tough, and 5 points may be to severe of a penalty. I'm thinking 5 points on the short mark, and 3 points on the longer mark. ?? Need some input on this.

It's a marking test. If you handle on a single your out. JMO

DIB i aggree ,,,,,,,,,,it is a super single's ,,,,,,,,,,,,if you have to handle on a mark i would assume the judge's would tell you to pick up your dog . The ONLY handling should be on the monster blind !

Micah has given his blessing. Gotta put MSDUCKS on the T-shirts!

He suggests profits to St. Judes or Hunt of a Lifetime.

Catch a Dream,
for my good buddy Bruce Brady.
It would go for the use of kids and the outdoors.

Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!! On the approval.

I'm good with the roping as well.

We may have some minor changes in the format coming depending on conversations with potential judges. So, the format is still not locked in stone yet. We want to try and get all the bugs worked out before making an official release. Probably going to at minimum combine the Finished/BigDawg group to save time. They would basically be the same dogs anyway. Stay tuned.

DIB,

I hate to go with the SRS concept, but their deduction system is 2 points for a whistle and 5 points for a cast refusal.

Just some thoughts, but you guys seem to have a good handle on this.

I also like the St. Jude and/or Hunt of a Life donation concept.

I have not read through the entire thread here, so has delivery to hand been touched on? A must in all classes? Just upper levels?

Right now the started/junior dogs will just have to deliver to the area, just like in a hunt test. Typically the judges will give you about 3 steps from the sending line. The rest will be to hand. (excluding pups). We are still talking about everything, but it's getting ironed out. We are going to make it fun, but expect it to be competetive as well.

Just so I'm clear on it. Master and "big dawgs" will still be singles?

Yep, two back to back singles. Think one fairly simple, the other very challenging. Oh, it looks like we are going to run master/finished and BigDawgs all under the big dawg group to speed things up.

Big Dawg Monster Blind is still on for the big bang ending........and I'll say this now, I have nothing, nothing, to do with this. It's all CC's idea.

Is the "monster" blind a water blind?

I dunno. I think it's already in CC's head though.....and since it's a freebie run and no real prizes (we will have some type of prize/trophy), I'm stayin' out of it........but I'll be watchin' with my binoc's......

I'm ready for the monster blind event! Max normally gets a 500-700 yard blind once a week.

Good for Max , you will have a couple of months to extend him out a little more :P :P Clark the KEY to the blind will not be the distance

Since its for charity and fun the KEY will be your only allowed (4) whistle's soooooo use them wisely grasshopper
