Well, here's an update.
Both surgeries went well. He's in a private room now. He's not getting the intense attention now as he was when in 'the unit', which hacks off Mom and Dad, but he is getting better like he should. The halo is on and the neck brase is off. The halo will be on for the next 6 - 12 weeks, according to the doctors. This also means that Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists can do their jobs. This morning the Occupational Terrorist had him sitting up and he fed himself breakfast, which pretty much wore him out. God help the Physical Terrorists when they show up.
Thanks again for all your prayers. We greatly appreciate them and please keep them coming.

Call your churches, call your friends,
Tell the communities that you live in!
We've been praying for my brother since late July,
For he had a 'copter fall on him as it tried to fly.
Broken bones, including his spine, made him ill,
I called during lunch - and he's in Batesville!!
The doctor's say "Go home to recouperate",
Everybody is thankful, Isn't that GREAT?!?!?!
Outpatient Physical Therapy is his current mission,
For a while he'll be at our parents, that's the decission.
Thanks for your prayers, from the whole family and me,
For my baby brother is going to Shelby.
Ok, so you get the idea. He's headed to the family farm for a while. He still has the halo on, and he still has a long way to go yet. But this is a VERY big and important step in his recovery. To say the least, we are all pretty happy with this news. BTW - He has already told the helicopter pilot that when he gets over this mess, that he's goona be the EMT on his flights. (And you know? Mike's just the kind of guy to pull it off, so I wouldn't put it past him.)
