Fayetteville passed a no smoking bout a year ago, it had no adverse effects on restuarants in fact half reported a gain in business, it was originally applied by a 70/30 rule determined by the police dept since it was never really defined in the law that passed at the polls, meaning that if more than 30 percent of your reciepts was prepared food there was to be no smoking, leaving about 13 establishments claiming bar status to continue to allow smoking, however, tricks with books were played, the council now admended the ordinance to prohibit all prepared food. It is enforced by the Fayetteville Police Dept. and it is not overlooked and its 75 bucks a pop, the business does not face penalty. This has not stopped anybody from opening up after the "cry wolf/chicken little" phase.

I worked the door of a bar here for three years, I do not smoking but after not working there for six months I could really tell a difference in my breathing and respitory system.

Most places are going to drop food to allow smking, it was only a convience for the customer at these establishments not much of a money maker. Most go with expectation to eat before they go now. everyone can now share a group hug since the confusion has been ended.
