This is the best advice anyone buying a gun could get. I've learned over 25 years of questioning gun counter employees that there are 2 qualifications required for standing behind the gun counter: (1) a warm armpit (2) a low IQ. (and armpit temperature can be waived).

To those having trouble buying a gun: speak up like you have a set!!!!!

If the initial, loud, but polite approach does not work, then try the General George Patton approach and throw in a GD or Mofo in a condescending manner ----it may not get you the gun, but at least you will have their attention.

If all this fails, just STAY HOME.

Boykin,
Tried calling Alan yesterday on his home phone, but did not get an answer.

Money,
Man, all you have to do is tell me what day and I am there! BRF and I spoke the other night and he is supposed to be getting with you on a day that we can all hunt. Sad thing is that you will probably have to assist in my limit too. :(

Haphaz,
I did not realize frog legs were so expensive. How have you been? We spoke at the DU shoot last May.

Why didn't you go to Van's or the Outfitter. They would also have been good choices to spend your money locally.

Gulfcoast, i think you missed his point. He was trying to look at the guns to see which one best fit him. Last time i checked, you order a gun from a FFL dealer, you got to pay for it.

I have this exact same problem each and every time I walk into the mean mallard. this is what chaps my a$$---2 salesmen and 2 customers...both customers are being helped by the salesmen and that's no problem b/c i can wait my turn. But 20 minutes later, it's still like i am not even standing there. I would have been okay if they would just acknowledged my presence, i.e., "we'll be with your shortly, sir" or something to that effect....but like i said, not one word. this has happened five or six time not to mention the times when they are on the phone and don't even help me.
will buy elsewhere!!!!!!!!!!!

Right on Gulfcoast. I ordered a gun from an associate with an FFL an saved $100+ on a $800 gun. He still made a lil bit and that is fine.
