But in your original post you said only 4 players that were juniors contributed heavily ( you didn't say started) We had six juniors that contributed heavily this year and a couple more that played alot. Give these guys the credit they deserve for busting their booty everyday so someone like you can complain about the way they play.

who the heck said i'm complaining about the way they play ?? I happen to know most of the guys names i listed and know exactly how hard they bust their booty at practice. Read back, i said Brown is a solid nickel back, he's been good this year, sanford started though. Can brown pass him in the off season ?? sure, heck, i'd like to see him do it, but if he doesn't he's not going to be on the field as much as those other guys. In no way is that criticizing how he plays. The original intent of the post was in reference to the 3 small recruiting class by Cutcliffe his last 3 years here, there's not alot of older depth on the team after this year and I don't see how that can be argued. I may have used the wrong wording when i said "contributed heavily," and for that I'm sorry. We'll have 5 starters returning who are juniors and 1 who saw PT at nickel back (and started while sanford was hurt), and i would not trade any of these players, they're all mentally tough, physically gifted, and love to play the game. It takes 22 starters plus backups to make it in this league, and the SEC lives and dies on upperclassmen, and the fact is, we won't have many the next two years. There is nothing in that criticizing how well the ones we have play or how hard they practice.

Well Cutcliff set our program back at least 10 years because he cant recruit, along with the fact he is so conservative.

Well Xpress, that is at least a good start.

Again, sorry to single you out --I could have singled out several others on pretty much any of the currently active threads (including one of our fearless moderators), but you were the closest at the time --lucky you.

Just trying to raise the bar a little on the discussion on this board. I had been away from the board for a while ---moving residence, hunting and T-giving holidays. Upon my return,I find that the post Egg Bowl threads are filled with posts that sound like a bunch of third graders taunting each other. Surely, we all have more to say and contribute than that?

It is not necessary to have the writing skills of Hemingway to offer informative analysis and reasoned thought in support of your opinions. And to my knowledge, there are no grammer and spelling police on the board, or we would all be in trouble (including me).

So, this is for everyone, not just Xpress -----I challenge everyone to contribute a little more in the sports discussion this off season(me included). After duck season and deer seasons are over, things can get a little boring. With an important recruiting season coming up for the UM , MSU, and USM football programs (as well as the other SEC programs followed by our brothers webbmaster, muddsucker, bourbon, etc), followed by what should be interesting spring training sessions, the upcoming SEC basketball season, the baseball season, etc. , there should be plenty to talk about that would interest any real southern sports fan. There are many knowledgeable folks on this board who can bring some real insight into what is going on at their favorite school. Hopefully, I am not the only one who would like to read some of this insight (whether I agree or disagree), as opposed to all the juvenille insults going back and forth.

I will now get off my stump, before I am accused of being long-winded and caustic.

PML and others,

All I am hearing is that there are three in the running for the new OC. These are Fourcade, USC's QB coach (can't recall his name) and Herbert. I know that Fourcade has been coaching in the arena leagues and USC's QB coach is coaching, but what does Herbert bring to the table?

Who are you all hearing is going to be the next OC?

That might be all you are hearing but if Fourcade or Hebert gets I will truly say that Ole Miss is skrewed.

Fourcade lobbied to join O's staff as a position coach last year, but noone was interested, why would he hire him now to be the OC ??

IF Hebert comes on, it will be as a QB coach,

Steve Sarkisian is the USC QB coach... would be good, btu doubtful if he'd come, he's a west coast boy,

Hue Jackson is one candidate, currently the WR coach for the bengals, however he turned down a HC job at temple last year, looks like he wants to stay in the NFL,

Steve Spurrier Jr. has the name and credentials, just not the experience

I don't know who the OC will be at this point. But, I do know who it will NOT be: Fourcade. The only one saying it will be Fourcade is Fourcade. Those that chose to believe such, probably still believe in the tooth fairy and Santa Claus ----so, no amount of reason or logic could possibly sway their little clueless fantasy. Why the CL chose to report that drivel a couple of weeks ago, I do not know. Most likely it was an attempt to create news in an otherwise dismal season for all the Mississippi teams.
