I have only one thing to say about this entire set of post dogging the Farmers and what they have or don't have.

Until you have walked in their shoes you have absolutely no reason short of being a selfish, jealous person in making any remarks on how they handle their finances.
This is just another example of how those that feels the world owes them something is quick to judge others when they have something they don’t.

It is a sad and ever expanding self serving world we live in and it continues to make me sick to read garbage from people that pretend to know what is going on.

Farmers live a very tough life economically. I admire each and every one of them.

I continue to have greater discuss for the sick little group of pretenders that feel they know more about how someone else should run their life than the ones living it.

What a load of crap some of you are able to spew.

Ok so vote Democratic and give your money to those that don't want to work or do anything but drink 40's and have more kids so they can get more money...Guess you support that..Now you want to talk about what this thread is about ok not which party you support. Remember those that I mentioned are the ones sitting at the grocery store and wanting to work by the day not by the season.

My sentiments exactly...farmers didn't make the rules, they just bust booty like every other small business owners to earn an honest dollar. I've not once in my life met a lazy farmer idly waiting on their entitlement, never will.

where?

Postby BAY KINGFISHER » Thu Feb 17, 2005 6:32 pm

hey I work Offshore where are me entitlements. Without gas and oil you farmers cant drive them Z71s, hehehehe. I guess its real easy to see why people would get jealious of subsidies, and I m sorry farming has been bad, but hell I wish that I could get something for being an offshore worker, Im sure the guy at the gas station you bought coffee from would want some money too, unless he is already on the system and lieing for cash, the problem is the whole system is screwed up, no different than welfare, medicaid, and the rest of the government programs. Screwed Up!
I hate to see money cut from the farmers, but shoot man, the bleeding has to stop, one way or the other, and the farmers are just an easier target than telling brother, Leroy that he is going to have to go to work and pay for all them kids. I guess the only suggestion I can tell you is find another career, like we have to do if we get laid off or lose our jobs, Life sucks, but at least it sucks living in the USA..not some third world country... The farmers think they have it bad they should see what the shrimpers on the Gulf Coast are dealing with, and they aint getting no subsidies, unless their Vietnamese, hehehehehe, damm them little yellow men will work though.

For your information the biodiesel made from soybeans and corn gets no subsities, so it cost around $2.25 a gal.

Oil companies get around $4.00 a gallon in subsities for diesel.

Wouldn't it make more sense to give Biodiese plants $1.00 per gal in subsities, and cut the oil companies subsities.

Of course you wouldn't have a job anymore. So maybe subsities do help you.

yeh

Thats intersting I would like to see the source of the info, I just dont understand how an oil company would get four dollars a gallon for diesel when its only selling for 2 dollars at the pump and uncle sam is getting half of that. I was just saying that evryone would be happy getting subsidies, that was my point, and let's face ic the world still cant turn without fossil fuels or farmers, the problems all go back to basic economics, a lot of the subsidies are to keep a handle on production so the world food market isnt flooded, if not you end up getting mass over production, so when the gov, feels they can cut the money without it causing a large increase in production, they will. I have seen in the produce business where the governments dont control production, product ending up being worth very little, so I guess its all part of the vicous cycle.

I heard that information at a Farm Bureau meeting. The president of Farm Bureau was talking about subsities, and he gave the oil subsities. He said it takes around $6 to produce oil and the subisties are around four dollars a gallon.

He may be wrong, but I find it hard to believe that he would make a speech without checking his facts first.

sound

Postby BAY KINGFISHER » Sat Feb 19, 2005 6:25 pm

I may be wrong but it sounds like he was talking about price per barrel, a barrel of oil is 42 gallons, oil is going for over 40 dollars a barrel, so Im pretty certain that they arent subsidizing diesel a deravitive of oil at 4 times the market price of oil, so anyway just how I see it. plus every barrel of oil taken from the gulf is taxed by the MMS(Mineral MGT Services) so the gov. is getting some of this price per barrel too, so thats why I cant hardly see a 4 dollar a gal subsidie for diesel. like I sid just the way I see it ........

the only farmers that chap my hide are the ones that won't pay their bill at the shop but 6 months later they'll pay cash for a pitblind or deer stand.
and then there is the ones that don't do sh!^ all winter, come time to get in the fields and their up in the shop with a " i gotta have this today attitude". i'll tell one in a minute that he should have brought it last week then.
